Tivoli Model PAL Radio Reviews: AM and FM

+ It's beautifully compact with plenty of colour options so there is boud to be one suitable for every room of the house. Waterproof housing means it's great for the bathroom.

+ This is the second one I have bought - a recommendation in itself. Good sound quality and compact, neat way of playing ipod through speakers. Rechargeable battery lasts ages and the first Tivoli radio I bought has withstood bathroom conditions for a couple of years

+ This is our second Tivoli radio and we love the sleek yet old-school design and the sound quality. We purchased the chrome version of the PAL on a great deal and it looks fantastic and is easy to move around the house. The battery lasts for days before needing to be recharged and it's easy to use.

- The simple and easy to use design is also the only downside - it doesn't have more advanced features like preset stations or a digital display. However, I tend to listen to the same station most of the time so this hasn't been a problem. The PAL is not a DAB radio but we specifically did not want DAB as we plan to move to Australia soon and DAB doesn't work there.

- Sound quality drops off when a Mp3 player is run through it

- bit pricy for nowadays - cf the competition from the DAB sector (which, being an analogue radio, it is not competing with, as such).
