+ Very easy to make recordings

- Instuction manual not very clear in some areas

+ Very easy to use. Can store a lot of recordings. Very small.

- Sometimes hangs (esp when deleting). Picture sometimes jumps.

+ Ease of recording and the control it gives over managing recorded programmes is excellent.

- The product uses freeview source programming and Freeview menu and programme selection banner compared to sky menu is not as comprehensive or user friendly - but from a point of view of the recorder product it it does not seem to like wind back and has got itself locked up a few times requiring a swich off and 'reboot'.

+ very easy to use; easy to flip from one function to the next; vey good value for money

- freezes if you use the 64x fast forward and overrun the end of the programme; sometimes flips back to the start of a programme when using ff at 16x plus; will not unfreeze easily eg by disconnecting and reconnecting

- Don't understand why need to put through VCR - can it be used without it? No set up info without VCR

- The hard drive makes a constant whirring noise - even in standby mode - so it can never be turned off unless you take the plug out

No ability to "shuffle" favourite channels - still have to navigate through channels in allocated order to find relevant one, so no "grouping" (e.g. E4, E4+1, More 4, Film 4) possible

+ Easy set-up. The instruction booklet is good, all the functions are covered in the manual. The product allows twin channel recording, replay whilst recording, and many other functions normally only available on expensive machines.

+ Great reception even though we do not have a digital receiving aerial. Even easier to use than a VCR. Brilliant to be able to record two channels at the same time. Records series without any difficulty and can be programmed for two weeks in advance from the TV Guide. All round a brilliant piece of technology. So Good in fact that we now have two of these in the house, one for the family in the lounge and one for the little woman of the house in her study/getaway/quiet room. Fantastic.

- Does take a little time to respond to some commands but lets face it you can't every thing.

- I bought a 160Gb and got sent a 250G unit... but 53% of the memory is free... and fan is permenatly on..
