- The lid tends to vibrate when in use and can be a bit noisey.
I found the water filter not necessary as I already use filtered water. So to buy the water filter every time one is required uses the money you could be saving using this product.

- Does not deliver boiling hot water which I found very dissapointing, therefore not recommended for making Tea but handy for making a quick cup of coffee that can be drank almost immediately. The QuickCup has been like this from the day of purchase so does not need de-scaling.

+ I bought this product as a christmas present for my daughter and she said that it was the best electrical device that she had ever had, you can have a cup of tea in seconds and it saves on the electric. It is also very neat and compact so it doesn't take up a lot of space on the work top. I have since bought myself one on her recommendations.

- It doesn't have a smooth flow of water, it spits and splutters, this causes the tea or coffee to splash droplets near the machine, which means more cleaning! We found that after approx. 11 days our machine needed descaling, ( even using water from a Brita filter jug), and having the filter in the machine that was supplied.

+ The water comes out extremely hot and easily makes tea, coffee, cup a soups, pot noodles etc. in an instant, perfect for the lazy!

- The water doesn't come out as a steady stream but coughs and splurts boiling water over the surface, or your hands and you have to hold the cup right up to the nozzle to prevent this which is a bit annoying.

+ It is economical in the use of power, filters tap water and provides instant boiling or cool water and is simple to use. It pours out a measured amount. It is a brilliant aid to me as I have limited mobility and cannot carry drinks from the kitchen. This allows me to make hot drinks from my armchair. I bought another for my mother and would recommend it to anyone.

- It can be noisy - especially when standing on a hard surface. You need to keep your hands away from the cup whilst the boiling water is pouring as it sometimes splutters boiling water/steam which could cause scaulding. It is pricey for a kettle but I would say worth every penny.

+ It does its job in that it is quick.

- Looks a bit cheap and tacky for the money. The water isn't heated to boiling point like that of a conventional kettle, therefore tea doesn't taste nice and all drinks are luke warm and need to be drunk straight away. I don't use it at all and its just taking up space on the kitchen worktop. I wanted a refund but its not deemed as faulty.

+ Its great to have either cold or hot water instantly. Its also nice that the water does not reach 100 degrees but a max of 95, avoiding nasty scalding should an accident occur.

- It would be nice to have had a larger jug with more capacity of water, and an extra free filter could have been thrown in as well. Its a bit noisy as well when the water comes out.

+ As a busy family this is ideal for quickly making tea without having to wait around for the kettle to boil. As you can set the exact amount of water you can push the button and wander away knowing that when you come back it wont be overflowing and you cup will be full to exactly where you set it.

- The water whilst hot enough to cause a burn isnt boiling which means that if you leave a cup for a little while it cools down very quickly leaving you with luke warm tea

- noisy and when you fill up the jug full, it doesnt give out a jug full of water - most of it evaporates so you are for ever filling the jug up.... it would also be great to have an adjustable auto-fill on it as you press the button once and a predetermined amount of water comes out - great to prevent overspill, but my mugs take a press and a half to fill a cup, if you could adjust it so different sized cups that would be great..!

+ I found that there was not a steady stream or flow of water which could be quite dangerous to a small child also the hot drinks did not stay hot for as long as they might with a conventional kettle and the noise was not acceptable to me therefore I was not very satisfied and have since returned my Tefal quick cup to my place of purchase and hopefully am awaiting my refund I have bought many kitchen appliances with the Tefal name as they are usually very good but I did feel this item was not for me and as I mentioned I was quite dissappointed with it .

- needs padding on base of body to stop vibration it is quieter when placed on a tea towel and the spout could be made longer so it doesn't spit and bubble every where i have to place the cup on an upside down cereal bowl to raise it to the spout

- As the boiling water comes out of the QuickCup it doesn't flow it smoothly so it splashes and it is very easy to scold yourself. Not ideal if you are wanting more than a cups worth of boiling water as this takes time.

- Just doesnt heat the water enough for a hot drink, mainly after adding milk. Be prepared to drink straight away. You'll probably still use your old kettle for a proper HOT drink.
