Score 9.0/10+ Excellent for a quick cup of coffee
- Not quite hot enough for a good cup of tea - and it makes quite a bit of noise! The second cup is hotter than the first, so if you need to make coffee and tea, then make the coffee first.

Score 8.0/10+ Quick and efficient. Using it in an office environment, so very practical in terms of use of time.
- Because the water doesn't quite reach boiling, it's fine for coffee but prefer to use the kettle for tea.

Score 10.0/10+ You don't have to wait for the water to boil, therefore you don't have to re-boil when you end up doing something else. Also you don't have to wait to drink it, it's the perfect temperature, as opposed to putting it down to wait for it to cool down a bit and then forgetting it while you go off and do something else.
- It's noisy but so's a kettle
purchased 18 Jan 2009

Score 8.0/10+ No need to wait for the kettle to boil, hot drink straight away.

Score 1.0/10+ The idea of this item is good, I bought one to save on the electric bill and to help the enviroment.
- The item is made of very flimsy material, and mine only did three cups before it packed in, all the lights were on but it did not heat the water. so I was very reluctant to replace with the same item.

Score 4.0/10+ The fact that its quick and easy to use, just press one button and you are done.
- Its very messy. the water splatters out of the spout and goes all over the worktop. We have now put a jug underneath to stop it splashing every where. We then transfer the water from the jug to the cup. Also the water isn't really hot enough for a cup of tea as you have to leave it to brew for 5/10 mins.

Score 2.0/10+ Looks good, really quick to deliver a LUKE warm cuppa, very clean tasting water
- Really noisy, coffee or tea is only LUKE warm if you take milk, cant pre-boil the water for a saucepan you plan to cook pasta/rice in. Too much of a "gadget" for my liking. Avoid.

Score 1.0/10+ good enough for coffee that does not require water to be boiling, easy to clean practical but no good for tea bags, would not buy anything like this again
- only heated water to 60 degrees which just isnt hot enough for tea bags. brought a thermostat to test the water from this and a normal kettle and the differencs was 20 degrees. paid a lot of money for this item which has now been relegated to its box. it is only good enough for instant coffee that does not require boiling water. very disappointed in it.

Stephen (Steve), Romford, Essex , “honest and positive”
Score 8.0/10+ Really efficient as you boil only what you need. Good design in general. Although there are some minor bad points below, I would still recommend the kettle
- The nozzle is beginning to get a limescale deposit around it after 3 months. The cartridges are too expensive. The cartridge does not last long enough. When using the hot water facility the kettle often 'spits' hot water outside the cup. Could have a Health & safety issue here.

Score 7.0/10+ Uses less water and less electric, plus its a whole lot quicker and you suspect, a tadge purer due to filter.
- Has already stopped working because it needs descaling. It hasn't had much hammer and it will be a pain to keep descaling if this is how frequently it needs doing. Pity that it isn't a bit taller as the dispenser catches on things like cafetiere which means you have to lift the whole contraption up if you want to fill it.

Score 9.0/10+ Very quick to heat water. Very good where you are making single mugs, or need 220ml capacity. Can trust it's accuracy, so can place mug under & know that it will accurately measure. It is possible to adjust pouring capacity to suit larger measures. Extremely economical on use of power - only cost 16p in electricity to date.
- It is rather noisy - but you become used to it. Some people might prefer a more extensive keypad which allows a 500ml button for use when cooking. The instructions are not very comprehensive & lack detail.
