Tangent Quattro Reviews: DAB and FM

+ Streams from uPnP server as well as play internet radio
Sound quality is very good for single speaker, line-out allows connection to Hi-Fi
Can save stations as presets.
Although I have listed more bad points that good, I really do like this product and use it all the time. As with all early adopter technology there is room for improvement :)

Station selection is ultra sensitive - easy to skip past destination
No tone controls
Station search could be much better - a more granular search once a country has been selected (e.g. city/region) would be ideal. Currently you can select a genre then a country, but that;s it - you may then need to search through thousands of stations and you have no idea where they are coming from. I think this may be a recevia restriction though - hopefully if this ever changes then it could be fixed with a firmware upgrade.
Only 5 pre-set stations can be saved. Given approx 9000 stations to choose from, selecting the top 5 is a nightmare!

+ The sound is clear and it's really easy to set up.

- The speaker is placed on the top which means that over time dust will be collected inside.

+ This radio is well finished and appears to be very well made. It was easy to set up on our apple wireless network. Sound quality is good for a radio of this size. It is great for listening to foreign radio broadcasts and obscure internet only stations.

- Finding and tuning in to the thousands of radio stations on offer is slightly fiddly.

- Does not connect with the internet even though everything else in the house can. Therefore, just a waste of space.

- so far I havent been able to connect wirelessy to my network and am having to use a wired connection.Not necessarily the Quattros fault but not as easy and idiot proof as advertised.
