Amazing 8GB memory, great looking device with the added 'show off' feature of a touch-screen. The 3g calling is great fun and I would urge more people to use this feature (especially with the cost of video calling so low these days). The W960i comes with a nifty case (so you don't scratch the big screen when the device is in your pocket) which doubles up as sort of a screen wipe as well. The supplied 'in-ear' headphones are also a nice 'Sony Ericsson' touch. I found the video on the phone to be awesome and it doesn't struggle with fast moving objects either. All in all my favourite 'Smartphone' to date. (Beats the Nokia N95 8GB hands down! - Especially for battery life).
-
The message input method could benefit from a 'joy-stick' navigation system like in older/lesser models (w890i for example), without this feature navigating around the body of your text message becomes 'fiddly'. Although the W960i has a staggering 8GB memory the processor struggles to provide swift access to most of the applications and the music if you decide (like me) to fill the memory with music. Although the camera does well with video and in daylight (as long as you’re not facing toward the sun) I have noticed that pictures taken at night or in dark situations often produce less than spectacular results (even with the light of the device on). Still none of this matters compared the overall fun that the W960i has given me.

The best thing is the wifi connection, if you like to check mail etc you can do it anywhere you can find a connection. the music player and headphones provided are top quality. The navigation is difficult at first being touch screen but you barely notie it after a few weeks and when using another phone you automatically touch the screen, it just becomes natural.
also very useful for document use word/excel and can view pdf files
-
camera and picture viewers aren't as good as the K series. when typing messages it can be awkward to select the words using predictive text

The W960 is a sound phone, the music quality is spot on, the web browsing capabilities are efficient and easy to use. The device CAN connect to G band wireless regardless of other comments, this is possible and the large screen just makes the phone complete, the screen also does not scratch easily which means that this phone could last a while.
This phone has more or less everything you could possibly want from a smart phone, even the camera quality is great, even though it says 3.2 megapixels, the quality can easily rival the K850i and the N95.
-
There are hardly any bad points for this phone. The battery life drains quickly when browsing the Internet (about 7 hours), but this is a processor exstensive feature and the battery draining quickly is understandable.
Other than that there are no other bad points.

Battery life a bit dissapointing but then again it has a large screen! Can slow down from time to time when browsing through software which is installed.Would like to have seen a 3.5mm socket for direct headphone attachement as in my N82.

All Sony 'W' phones are good for the music side of things and this phone is no exception. Its touch screen is also a good feature, but touching the correct icon is hit and miss.
-
There are plenty of bad points, generally the set up of navigation is a pain. I thought I would give it time to get use to, but I now realise that the latest operating system is a massive step back on previous versions.
Even sending a text message involves pressing 8 buttons before writing a word.

This phone overall is a good phone in keeping with all sony ericsson phones. The sound is excellant and video and camera is still superb even though it is only 3.2 megapixels. The touch screen is very sensative so no need to "stab" it for it to work.

Battery life is terrible. With use of games or music the battery only lasts a day or two. The OS is very slow in switching between programs. It your are in a hurry you will get frustrated as it sometimes seem to take around 5-8 secs to get anyting to open up. Looks are good apart from the stupid white strip on the side.

The W960i is packed full of features, which make it a good all-rounder. The camera, web, messaging & connectivitiy are all above average in terms of technical specification and as part of the Walkman range; this phone has an excellent 8GB memory and music features, which form the centerpiece of this model.
-
Handwriting recognition is tricky to learn at first and having to hold the phone with both hands can prove awkward; not only when using the stylus, but also the scrolling wheel on the side of the phone.
