SONY XDRS10 Reviews: DAB and FM

+ A fantastic looking radio with great sound. So nearly my perfect radio.

- Even though the radio has a sleep timer on it, which would imply that it is used next to a bed, it does not have a radio alarm function, which is really annoying, because it has a digital clock and is obviously a radio too. It can't be too difficult to connect the two. If it did it would be my perfect alround radio.
Other thing that could be better is the display, it gives enough information but could do with a dimmer on it as is quite bright at night.

+ Even my technophobe wife can use it. Clean attractive design. Good sound quality.

- Display lettering could do with being larger. Headphone socket would be easier to access if on front or side, rather than at the back.

- Confused initially by having to press power button to turn on and then again to tune, not explained in manual which advises you to mannually tune unecessarily.

+ I've never had a DAB radio before & didn't expect it to be so good - are they all as good as this one - maybe not !! Sound/Display/Look - all brilliant and not hugely expensive

+ Very well made, excellent fit and finish, solid. Highly agreeable design, cool, simple, elegant -- some say retro but I would simply say well designed. Setting it up was surprisingly easy; station numbers were pre-assigned to the logical BBC stations, ie. 1=BBC1 and so on. The interface is blissfully easy to use, with a minimum of button-pushing. Sound quality is very good for the size -- pretty good range and accuracy. Generally it's a delightful piece of kit.

- Only one: that the buttons are so tasteful (just subtle events on a flat, brushed stainless steel strip) that you have to be rather engaged and careful at the moment of pressing. That said, I don't mind.

+ Great Sound and reception

- Display too bright and can not be changed

+ I like products that you plug in and they work - I hate reading instructions and with this product you do not
need to read long sagas to have it playing.

- None that I can think. I have purchased many Sony products and have always been very happy with them.
