Dubbed by Sony as its 'slimline tonic' laptop, the VAIO VGN-FJ1S (¬£899 inc. VAT) straddles the line between budget and mid-range machine.When the lid remains closed, the VGNFJ1S is an aesthetically pleasing machine. It's housed in a magnesium composite case and emblazoned with the VIAO logo. Open up the lid and the interface is uninspiring by comparison. The keyboard, touchpad, mouse buttons and even the laptop itself all fl ex under the slightest pressure.
