+ It's minimalist design makes the unit very unobtrusive in the right environment and its aesthetically very pleasing (according to my taste of course!). It's neat, attractive speakers are a real quality item and sound as good as they look. I have yet to see an iPod docking station look so "professional" (to my mind they usually look like an over-designed fashion accessory) and that is part of the appeal for me; this looks much more than just another docking station. Sound wise I think this unit is astonishing. Sony are reknown for having the edge on iPods for general sound quality (let's face it, it's what Sony do best so they should) and this unit really projects that quality. The rich bass and broad, crisp tonal range belie the size of this outfit and it is way ahead of any other MP3 docking station combo that I've heard to date. I was going to buy a mini stack for my lounge but decided not to bother having rigged this up, it's that good. For reference I use the Sony NWZ818B player with this. I am also an active muscian so know a few things about sound quality!

- I have only one criticism on the design and that is the stiff interconnect cables that resist your attempts to coil them neatly away and a side exiting cable (on the dock unit) that frustratingly means there will always be a small piece of cable in view instead of being able to drop all the mess invisibly away behind whatever unit you are standing the setup on. That is my neat freak personality however and we are talking about 2cm of wire on view here! That's all!

- The only annoying thing about it is the fact that you can't browse your albums with the remote.

+ It is very easy to "dock" my music player.

- Some of the buttons on the remote control do not have any affect on my music player!

+ Great sound, good looks, Charges your walkman and accepts a line-in.

- No line from the cradle, remote control can't do menu on the N800 range, just volume, muting, play, pause, skip and f.forwad/f.back. There are a few mould lines on the speaker boxes that shouldn't be there.
