+ Reliable - previous recorder (Philips 3330H had a tendency to freeze).
High capacity.
Good editing facilities - easier & qucker when compared with Philips.

- No time shift video bar (as with the Philips). Chase play is a poor substitute as it depends on the machine being in record mode - no good for recording the unexpected!
Title menu screen options range from mediocre to awful. Title menu not visible on this machine afterwards if using DVD+R (ok with DVD-R).
Chapter marks are lost if dubbing in real time.
Instruction manual is poor - end up learning by trial & error. ABove points are not clear from the manual. The range of recording options (media & modes) are not well explained. Could have done with a simple comparison & merits of each. I still haven't fully figured out the two editing modes and the extent of edit marks shifting.

- Not as intuitive (easy to use) as Humax 9200T - which it is replacing
HDD Fast forward has only four speeds

- trying to get sony to repair the loose hdmi connection

+ Easy set-up (helps having a Sony Bravia TV though).

- For some reason, on shutting down, sometimes it "sticks" on the AV channel & doesn't return to the TV. (May have something to do with having both SCART and HDMI connections).
