- Pitiful sound. I shall be using a separate system so it doesn't bother me, but this is very poor for such a premium set. My previous Samsung 1st-generation plasma was vastly better on the sound front.

- sound quality isn't great- it is not bad but comparing to last tv ( Panasonic) it doesn't have much depth- I use it with 5.1 sound system to enhance the quality.

+ The Sony Z series is a brilliant TV. The image quality is outstanding, first broadcast I watched on it was Augusta golf in HD and I saw detail of the course I have never seen before. I then watched WALL-E on BluRay and again it was trully outstanding. If you can afford the Z series don't settle for anything less, you will not be disappointed.

+ Compared to LCD televisions that friends have, this set really does shine in all respects. You really notice the imperfections in picture quality of other sets. The Max Motionflow mode ( 200hz) is a real surprise and can make things look a bit too life-like. It can be turned down, though, and the standard setting is great.

- The program GUIDE feature is not good :-
1. If has adverts that you cannot get rid of.
2. Each programd has an icon but no program number so you can't go staright to that number later.
3. Response to selections is slow.

+ very good - the motionflow 200hz is amazingly clarifying and the HD really makes viewing come alive - I sometimes put the Motionflow on a medium setting as it seems to make some things look strange - like if a tree is blowing in the wind in the background it should look as if it moving naturally fast - with motionflow it looks like it is bodypopping - well sort of - but it is great for natural history programming etc. A W series 100Hz Motionflow which is cheaper might have been just as good.

+ Everything. Image is amazing. Some normal DVD's look as vivid as Blue Ray on the screen.

- DNLA is hard to configure. Buy a Playstation 3 and it is redundant, but the PS3 in combination is spectacular.

- Being really critical the guide function is cumbersome and slow.

I am very pleased with the picture quality also the sound is good for a LCD TV which can be a bit of a let down on some sony LCD TV'S I made my purchase after reading the What Hi Fi review also the price has dropped by some £400. I have always been a fan of Sony products this my 3rd sony TV and they have never let me down. I also purchased a Sony Blue Ray Player to go with the TV, All I can say I am impressed if your after one buy it.

- Thought from the desciption you got the optional speaker grilles in black and red with the product and you could choose which one to use.
Evidently not you have to buy them separately

- - Guide plus system too slow. tried 3 times to load left for a couple of days and still did not update. Now just use the standard digital guide. Shame because the Guide Plus system looks good on paper...
