Software is hard to load. Connect software almost impossable in fact I had to remove it from my PC and use Sonic sound instead

I think Sony have a good product here its a pity to spoil it with poor software

Looks and feels fantastic. Huge storage capacity with battery life to match. Easy to use and intuative menus. Packed with clever and innovative features - intelligent shuffle, artist link etc.

The software. The 'Connect Player' software is used to load tracks from your PC onto the NWA3000V. It formats the songs and adds data thats needed for features such as intelligent shuffle and artist link. Heard horror stories before buying but went ahead anyway. At first it seemed to run ok, if painfully slowly. It was also prone to 'hanging' but I could just about live with that. Now it doesn't work at all and if I try to run it my PC crashes! I've followed all the advice on the Sony website - updating and re installing the software - but to no avail. I've been forced to use an older, tried and tested bit of software (Sonic Stage) to get music on my player, but of course this doesn't provide the functioality that 'Connect' should.

Beautiful piece of hardware, let down by some pretty shocking software. If Sony get round to sorting this fairly fundamental problem out, this would, in my opinion, be easily the best mp3 player on the market at the moment.

Functions as well as it unique design. Variety in colours makes it ideal for peoples choice. Seperate mains battery charger in addition to USB combination charger/computer link adds freedom.

Very Easy to use - i bought it for my partner as xmas pressie and he's very technophobic - he can use it very easily. The sound quality is fantastic. Playing time/battery hours great - i could go on and on!! Thanks

A bit on the heavy side but i suppose it adds to the knowledge that it is a quality item

the software is terrible, takes a lot of time to work out what makes it crash/remove your enitre library. I'd advise not using it to rip CD's and to just import mp3s from your hard drive

Design and build still very good today. Love the look and sound. And it has outlasted other mp3 players bought at Xmas by my friends.

Software is still not up to scratch, and the player is slower to use in general (load times etc). Playlists etc are difficult to use.

In love with it, however there are a few practical issues. However design makes up for these in the main.

This player has a stylish design that appeals to the masses, combined with high sound quality, and excellent, supplied, earphones, makes this player look, at first, a brilliant choice.

The player is unusable!!! The software does not work. When i bought the player i read many reviews like this and presumed it must be the individuals computers which wern't set up correctly, however, unforunately my trust in sony was misfounded. Testimony to this is on sonys' website, where they have actually put up the old version of the software for download, sonic stage (which is aweful may i add), due to the sheer amount of people unable to use the connect software.

DO NOT BUY UNLESS YOU HAVE MORE MONEY THAN SENSE AND CAN AFFORD TO REPLACE!!! I sent this player back not long after getting it, to replace it with a differernt sony player, which was equally aweful, and subsequently, was also returned to be replaced with a much less sophisticated gemini player. The player i have now is not pretty, it does not have the same functions as the sony and the supplied earphones are much to be desired, HOWEVER, it transfers and plays music, and it does so very well, which is what a portable music device should do, and unfortunately what the sony models fail to do.

Software could be better. Not as user friendly as iTunes. Maximum volume was very poor until I found a way to alter this on the internet. Difficult to see the screen in bright daylight.

Bad Software

One of the most stylish MP3 players out there, with a good battery life and improved features than earlier Sony versions. The sound quality is excellent, and Sony are finally starting to catch up with cracking accessories.

Software is still not up to iPod standard, but it's much faster than before and doesn't crash like the old software did. It can also be a little slow through menus once it's full, but not so much that it frustrates.

All you could really want in an MP3 player is a big hard drive, good sound quality, easy to use software and all the accessories you could want. This does it for me, and I feel I get value-for-money from Sony, whereas I've always felt ripped off by Apple.

It's quick and easy to move downloads onto the player through the straight forward Connect software.

The battery is non-renewable so at some point everything will have to be moved off the unit and onto something new.

It's handy, a nice size and easy to use.

The machinr was great. The software caused all sorts of problems.

Ended up after 2 months of wrangling with the machine going back for examination and EVENTUALLY a refund because it was faulty.

Despite having always bought Sony products in the past, we will NEVER purchase another.

Fabulous battery life. Beats the iPod hands down!

erm..... its quite easy to use

breaks easily, Battery life doesn't live up to 35hrs as advertised. Too quite, Earphones awful. Build quality feels cheap.

The good points are that it looks very stylish, doesnt weigh alot and has a very large memory.

It can be quite slow, and was extremely difficult to set up puttin music on it.
