+ Just a well thought out excellent product - superb picture quality
- Manual is a bit brief. E.g. there are three primary modes of operation Video, Photo and SMTH SLW REC. I hadn't come across the later and as it is a primary mode not some minor menu item then I assumed that the manual would enlighten me, wrong, I had to go to the net to find out what it meant.

+ Excellent quality, ease of use
- Not much editing software supplied, (sony vegas would have been nice), requires high end pc for 'proper' editing in HD

+ Easy to use, brilliant picture & sound, intuitive menu
- Battery life, software is a bit clunky, touch-screen menu would be better button-driven.

+ Supurb quality and features
- None as far as I can judge

+ I am very impressed by the camera's ease of use, you can be up and running very quickly. Excellent image quality, video footage is almost off the scale and the image stabiliser makes it possible to get a good image even at 10x zoom. The ability to take some still photo's whithout stopping video filming is also very useful.
- Still image quality is good but not as good as a dedicated 10 mega pixel camera but then given the rest of this camera's qualities this is probably being a little picky!

+ Fantastic results
- screen gets smudged from finger marks and controls can be a bit fiddly

+ Excellent image quality; very good sound quality overall. Still image quality is also very good. 3.2" touch sensitive LCD screen. The viewfinder is useful in very bright sunlight. 7hrs recording time at the highest image quality and up to 22 hrs at lower quality. Good optical zoom. The robust housing has hinged or sliding access covers to the ports. Nice touches e.g. ability to assign different functions to the cam wheel e.g. focus, exposure; a gravity sesnsor to protect the hard disk etc. Can record stills and video to Memory Stick.
- The wind filter is not very effective resulting in significant wind noise on the audio at times. Sony use a mini to standard HDMI cable that is not included and needs to be purchased separately. Need to buy a larger battery and keep the one supplied as a spare. The touch sensitive screen is a nice feature, but as a downside it gets covered in fingerprints. The editing software supplied by Sony is poor. However these are all relatively minor niggles that can largely be resolved and should not dissuade anyone from buying what is an excellent product overall.

+ Can take very good snapshots from videos
- Touch screen and menus a bit fiddly

+ High built and image quality.
- The touch screen is a good idea in theory, but is so susceptible to fingerprints as to be a major liability in practice.
