Easy to use especially for one of my age-----born 1930., compact and lightweight to carry around.
-
Not with the camera, but Sony could have printed in full all the technical infotmation rather than via the computer. It would be much easier to have a printed version with you especially while on holiday. The small
booklet provided is adequate but not as good as the one via the computer.

Score 8.0/10+ It is a good HD Camcorder. Can take photos while video in operation (but only stored on HDD not memory stick). Slow motion feature fascinating.Takes good stills.Video quality good too.
- Battery life is only just adequate - probably to presuade you to buy a second back-up battery. Doesn't show any indication of space left on hard drive - OK I know that depends on quality of recording. But on a regular DVD time is expressed in current recording setting.Slow motion limited to very short time as it cooks the processor.

Score 9.0/10+ Easy to use, very small and light, great built quality
- Image has some noise. However I haven't tested playback on a big screen yet, just my PC monitor

Score 9.0/10+ Very good quality pictures. Very easy transfer to DVD. Takes fantastic stills pictures too - so no need for digital camera as well. Generally, menu system easy to follow with intuitive signs and menus.
- A bit on the heavy side for modern camcorders, but as this replaced an old tape format camera which was more than twice the weight, we feel it's a great improvement. Touch screen a bit fiddly for those with large hands and fingers.

- Very overly complex set up for the software on the computer. Once it's set up it is also complicated to work out how to get it to do what you want. Also the software is not mac compatible which might be an issue for some.
