+ Clear and easy to use navigation section which was of particular importance given I'm a bit of a techno phobe. The picture quality did seem to be beter than other makes when viewed in store.

- I suppose the price is the biggest barrier but I'm hoping that the reliabilty of Sony products will justify the price differential. The only other bad point is the cost of SOny wall brackets, (as a result we purchased bracket from another manufactuer.

+ Picture quality.
Build quality.

- Default picture settings are not suitable for normal home use and no advice is given in manual for alternative settings.
Left/right audio channels on HDMI input seem to be reversed although this could be a fault on the output from DVD player; impossible to tell.

+ The quality of picture in hd mode is excellent

- when viewing via the built in freeview the pixeling realy stands out on a lot of channels even more so when watching sports i.e football etc..

‘HD Ready’ is a Europe-wide standard designed to made HD technology less confusing. Full HD TVs have screen resolutions of 1080p and can output at least 24 frames per second. Full HD is becoming common, but you won’t see Full HD on normal TV channels for a long time, so it remains optional for many people.
