Picture Quality is very good. Cross bar menu is good especially if you have several products. There are plenty of options over most things. Sound quality is reasonable. Black level is good for an LCD.
-
Applicast gadgets poor compared to Panasonic, just ignore it. Still finding out features even though there's a book and onTV help. The guide+ EPG has adverts which take up a lot of area and cannot be switched off. The alternative Sony EPG is worse than some old set top boxes. The Guide+ downloads take over 30 minutes and should only be done in Standby, otherwise it takes over an hour of no picture during initial setup which is very frustrating.

Quality name, quality product. Easy to set up and easy to use. Picture quality excellent even without hi def input - much better than other sets I have seen. Theatre and sports mode v useful. Changing any settings via remote and onscreen dispays could not be easier. Inputs to for other devices should cater for 95% of users.
-
Have to leave tv on standby to get tv guide updated regularly, which seems to be a waste of power. Guide is optional so can make do with programme list which is just about as good,

The image quality is very good, particularly in High Definition and the all black frame provides a virtual invisible background, which avoids any visual distraction. The switching processes, such as selecting HDMI or component are simple, easy to use and quick.
-
The operation manual is poor, meaning that time wasting experimentation is needed to explore the full functional capability of the ptoduct.

Stylish, with superb picture quality.
Had read the reviews of this model and was a bit apprehensive at first, but am glad i went ahead with it. Easy to use menus, very good picture quality on blue ray and high definitio films and a pleasure to just at.
Shame about the lack of high definition channedls out there at the moment.

clear and vibrant colours, worked brilliantly with BlueRay. The integrated Digital TV tuner is extremely good, much better than earlier Sony efforts and the picture quality competes well with my Topfield box. Menu system is also very good and plenty of Input/output options. 3 year guarantee is also very good.
-
Sound quality and volume like most of these slim sets isnt anywere near as good as my old flat screen 32" Sony CRT but playing through my hifi compensates. Otherwise I cant think of anything else, its a great product.

The design of the stand could be better but did go together very easy. when reading the instructions though i was a little concerned about the possibility of accidentally tipping the tv over. To over come this SONY recommend using a tie between the tv stand and the base ,table or what ever it is sitting on. This meant screwing a wood screw into the back of my tv table which is a bit naff! I have done this though for peace of mind. one end fixes to the table the other end to the special tapped M4 hole foe a screw.

We bought a Sony unit thinking it would coordinate well with our new 37 inch Sony TV and it does. The sound is very good and very much better than the built in speakers of the TV. It did very well in the last edition of Which that came after we bought it. Looks a quality product and we are very pleased so far....
-
The controller is very complicated but we tend to use the simpler TV controller (Sony) most of the time. It turns on the TV and the home cinema unit together although there is a surprising delay (3 or 4 seconds) for both units to come on after the button is pressed.

Type of Screen

Most small flatscreen TVs have LCD screens. Some larger TVs have plasma screens. Some very new TVs have LED screens. Traditional TVs are called Standard or CRT.

HD TV

|
Full HD 1080p
|
‘HD Ready’ is a Europe-wide standard designed to made HD technology less confusing. HD Ready TVs must have
• Minimum vertical resolution of 750 pixels (in widescreen format)
• Ability to display 720p and 1080i formats
• An HDMI or Digital Video Interface (DVI interface)
Full HD is a higher standard. Full HD TVs have screen resolutions of 1080p and can output at least 24 frames per second.
Full HD is becoming common, but you won’t see Full HD on normal TV channels for a long time, so it remains optional for many people.
|
Freeview or Freesat Tuner

|
Freeview
|
Freeview is free digital terrestrial TV. FreeSat is a free digital satellite TV service, which gives you HD programming from people like the BBC without having to pay for a subscription to a service like Sky. You need a dish to receive Freesat but not Freeview.
For more information see the Freeview site or the Freesat site.

Scart sockets are places where you can connect other devices to your TV. If you already have a DVD player, a VCR and a Playstation you might want to make sure your new TV has enough Scart interfaces so you don’t have to keep crawling round the back of the TV.
