+ Great quality player. Fast start-up and disc playback. Excellent picture and sound. Very easy to use.

- Minimal feature set - many other players in the same range offer DivX playback and YouTube access. This player doesn't. There's no eject button on the remote control.

+ fantastic picture quality colour is amazing easy to use and connection is easy as it only needs an HDMI lead. It also does a good job of upgrading an ordinary DVD.

- Only one bad point and that is i now have to think about surround sound to really blow me away.

+ It has has both coaxal and optical digital outputs, so if your audio system is older like mine without optical connection but the older coaxal, all is ok. Sleek black design.

- Cannot think of any.

+ Fantastic quality for the price. Can only be beaten by spending twice the price.

+ This player is an absolute bargain in my opinion. Got it for £165 when it had literally been out about a month, and I'm impressed. I've got it hooked up to a 40" 1080p Sony W Series television, and the picture really jumps out at you. Bravia sync is also nice, it means it doesn't matter which of my Sony remotes I grab, I can use it to perform basic functions on either device.

- Very minor points, but it would be nice to have an eject button on the remote, and also an illuminated remote (I watch movies in dim light, as I would imagine do most people who cared enough about quality to buy a bluray player at this point in time). Also, the gloss black finish looks nice, but only for about 10 seconds as it literally attracts dust (static).

- None spring to mind

+ Very high quality images and sound. The Sony also does a superb job of upscaling DVD and watching my movies shows a dramatic increase in picture resolution and makes it a much more satisfying experience.

- Maybe slightly slow at loading discs, but considering the amount of data being transferred probably not bad.
Other than that, nothing to report to its detriment.

+ Cheap for what it does and good quality

- Not the best looking machine out there
