+ Very light compact and extremely user freindly.
- None to date, although software provided for converting to DVD is not of great quality.

+ I bought the camera for my husband. he had asked for a small camcorder to take to gigs (he is a drummer in a band) He is not great with technical things and the camera seemed simple to use, small, lightweight. My Archery club had recently purchased the same camera and I thought it was just right for what my husband wanted so I got him one.
- The picture quality in poor light is not great but haven't had time to have a look to see if there is a manual setting that will take the poor light into account.

+ Image quality, battery life, size, ease of use all excellent

No view finder.
Manual lens cover annoying - have to manually open the lens after switching on.
The h264 compression of the MP4's is very CPU intensive. This makes it very hard currently to work with the digital content on your PC unless you have a very high spec machine. My machine which is a Pentium D Dual core machine with a 256MB NVidia Graphics Card and 2GB memory cannot play the content clearly even though I have tried lots of different codec's and software. Reccomend a very high spec machine if you plan on editing.
I have also been unable to find a good solution for batch converting the files to WMV to edit in Microsoft Movie Studio which I really like as a simple editing tool. You can convert files individually using Microsoft's free encoding software but it is anything but simple and not practical for converting lots of files (as you get from a digital camcorder).
The software that comes with the player for editing is not that great so you probably want to consider a 3rd party solution such as Adobe Premier Elements.
Finally - I had read several reviews but none had made clear that there are 3 versions of this camcorder - this one comes with no onboard memory, whilst their are other versions that come either with 4GB or 8GB onboard. This isnt a big problem as memory prices are dropping but thought it was worth mentioning.

+ The size and shape make it very easy to hold. The use of the camera very easy and the tilt screen excellent. The best bit of it is how easy it is to download footage to the pc or laptop. Of all the cameras we have owned this one is definatley the best and we are actually thinking of buying a second one for the family holiday to Florida later in the year.
- For the price you can not expect the best item out on the market. But we were more than happy with the quality of the item for the amount we paid.

+ Its size makes it handy to carry about. The touch screen is easy to use.
-
No on board memory!! This is not made clear in the advertising. The stock lens is very narrow angle.
The codex MP4 is not used by any other movie viewers. The supplied software including the movie viewer is not very user friendly. The supplied viewer will not work with any analysing software.
This camera although state of the art is not at all suitable for use in the golf industry. I do not recommend it.

+ Fantastic HD Picture quality when put through my Samsung 32'' LCD TV via the HDMI input, also the ability to capture photos from the film is great as well. A superb Camcorder worth every penny

+ Nice and small and light, fits easily into handbag. Very good value for money. Great for holidays, days out etc because of it's compact size.
- doesn't default to easy shoot - you have to go through settings each time you switch on to put it back to point ans shoot mode. I didn't think it was very good in low light conditions either.

+ Cheap and easy to use its a great little camcorder for taking on nights out and into situations where you wouldnt want to risk loosing/breaking a pricier model. The software that it comes with is pretty straight forward and if you cant use that then just save them and play your footage in media player. The picture quality in most light conditions is good and for the price you cant expect anymore.
- The picture quality in snow conditions is not great and it struggles with really fast moving subjects.

+ With the anti shake it is really easy to get a good result. The 34x optical zoom is amazing.
- for the price and quality I don't think there are any.

+ Very compact and lightweight. Excellent picture quality on playback, this was on a 42" HD ready LCD. Menus are very easy to navigate on the touch screen LCD.
- Battery needs charging fairly frequently, but you have a countdown on screen which is very accurate, so at least you wont be taken by surprise when the battery goes.

+ Bought this because of its ease of use and size. Was not disappointed as its operations are straightforward and it can comfortably be held in one hand while filming. It is also simple to transfer the video clips onto the computer using the Windows Operating System.
- So far I have not discovered any bad points although I realise that it does not have the features of a more expensive video camera i.e. high definition.

Can't take stills
No built in memory
purchased 26 Nov 2007
+ Value for money
- Unfortunately not Mac compatible (only discovered after purchasing). A little longer than most of the new camcorders.
purchased 29 Dec 2007
+ It's a just a camcorder it does exactly what it say on the box. 34x optical zoom is great for close up of wildlife. Weight allows wife to carry it around with herself all the time so as never to miss an opportunity to record our 14month olds havoc. Cheap SDHC memory 4Gb 17.99 provides plenty of time for recording.
- Not many effecting it's overall use. Has wide screen, but only records in 4:3 ( doesn't bother us ). Have to install a separate windows codec for video playback.

+ gyreat picture quality easy to use
- could do with a second battery
