+ A great picture, especially in HD. A very slim design. The tv has some good features like the use of the internet which works well. Make sure to search for the optimal settings on the internet though as they do make a difference.

- I didn't feel the sound was loud enough at the top end for a true cinema experience (as you have a large screen tv!). It may be worth considering a blu-ray home cinema system. I purchased the 1255 which works fantastically with the tv. If you want the latest kit, look out for the 8 series LED which I think is available. It has 200hz as opposed to 100hz on this one. I am not sure when the 55" version is available but 46" and below are.

+ Brilliant picture. Ultra slim design is very good. Relatively easy to use.

- We have had to buy a dongle in order to hook up the DNLA wirelessly. We also have to buy a sound system and the sound quality does not match the picture quality and this is much more expensive than I realised. Also the Ultra slim wall bracket is a rip off at £200!!! My partner has made one that does the same job for under £10!!!

+ Very stylish and astonishingly slim. Amazing picture quality even in Freeview.

- Not many, being picky it would be the screws to mount a frame for the stand that were problematic to use.

+ Thinness, Being able to play photo's & movies direct from hard disc or usb stick.

- When mounted on the wall with an after market bracket, the connectors are impossible to get at without taking it off the wall, but i suspect that would be the same with most non tilt wall mounts.
Spacers provided but no bolts to fix after market brackets and no mention of length of bolt needed.

+ Image quality, design looks amazing definitely wife friendly, plenty of connections, on screen menus look great, very light to move around, the cable management on the tv is well designed and if you have a white wall behind the tv wires go through a white sleeve provided and pretty much turn invisible behind the clear stalk of the stand, the stand looks very nice.

- sound is liveable but not amazing but if your pairing this up with a sound bar or home cinema sound system or theatre in a box type systems this does not matter

+ Absolutely huge TV, really high quality picture even with this size screen, extremely easy to use & set up. Very cool styling & some great built in features (photo gallery, recipes, games etc)

- None really - it's quite heavy (although, relatively, the lightest in its class) but what do you expect from a 55" TV.

+ Excellent picture quality. Supports all popular video connections. Games consoles look amazing, even the Wii doesn't look too shabby and the colours are vivid. 24Hz film mode is great for watching Blu-Rays. Default settings are decent, but everything is highly customisable too. Thin light & low power / eco friendly. Stays cool. Genius packaging - outside of box slides up and over.

- Clouding on corners of screen in dark scenes, lack of (analog) audio jack out. Some menu options are hard to find (eg. Game Mode under "General" settings). Sounds is better than expected for such a thin screen but still requires decent digital sound system to be bought separately.

+ Samsung has finally updated their user interface and software compared to older LCD TV's and it is so much better now. Channels and sources selection is much faster now. Picture quality and black's are really good and unit is much cooler, thinner and lighter compared to non LED LCD TV's. This is the way LCD TV's should have been made in a first place and not using fluorescent tubes. Not sure if this is s a good or bad point (good for me as it provides flexibility) but you really should spend some time playing around with image quality settings to get the 'best' picture for yourself (not that factory settings are that bad). Once done it will look really good.

- Using internet services via TV is slow and rather awkward so I don't use it, much easier with computer.
Speakers don't sound that good.

+ Slimline design and fits flush to the wall with the correct wall mounting. Picture in HD particularly good.

- Sound quality very disappointing and definitley a home cinema system is required. Also the fact that Samsung attach a heavy stand which is not required as I cannot believe anyone would buy this not to wall mount it. To purchase the correct wall mounting is an additional £200. They should give you the option with stand or with wall mount.

+ It has the wow x factor looks and delivers an image beyond expectations even with non hd equipment. The link to internet brings it all together. It is remarkably slim and hangs like a picture frame with Samsung brackets. So now we can display the mona lisa or any other piece of art on our wall as ascreen saver or enjoy and experience the sight and sounds of a movie without going to a cinema hall. Sports are excellent to view in HD, if only England could also improve its performance to match our new Samsung.

- Being new technology its a little on the pricy side and having to purchase HDMI leads and supporting bracket seperatly is annoying. Would have preffered a package price.
