+ Good desigh and looks good with my other Samsung products. Plug and play so easy set up and picture quality on DVD's very good using the HDMI connection.

- Shame you have to switch off the system to record using the timer.

- Recordings Jump all the time making programmes unwatchable, also colour is too intence and blurry on play back

+ Looks good, and matched the Samsung LCD TV set, this product was a gift for my Father-in-law.

- My Father-in-law commented on the player as, difficult to use, confusing and conflicting instrutions, USB input not well supported.

+ It looks great, user interface is really easy to use, great price.

- When you set the timer to record a programme to the hard drive, the recorded picture you gets keeps jumping all through the recording. You cannot for some reason use the DVD player while recording to the hard drive. A poor product from Samsung as it doesn't essential do what its designed to do!

+ It is quiet, easy to use on a basic level and does everything I need it to and more. It was purchased for use by the rest of the family for it's simple to use recording and playback features.

- The manual is a bit wordy and in a couple of instances not quite complete in it's instructions, that is following it's step by step guide I was trying to delete a file and had to experiment to get into the right menu to be able to achieve this. The guide didn't direct you fully.

- I am no technophobe, but I find it fiddly to use. The main reason for buying the Samsung was to sync with my Samsung TV. You can't even sync the remotes. Occasional loss of picture, but could be signal issue.

The instructions that are supplied do not give enough detail on how to operate the machine

- I personally find the Instruction Manual very technical. I am not very experienced with the names and terms in the manual and find it difficult to understand. I would appreciate if you would pass my comments on to Samsung so perhaps they might print something for idiots like me to understand !!.

+ It is so simple to programme the DVD to record something, just click on the compehensive listings what you want to record and that's it!

- Instructions are not always that simple to follow. If you are recording then you can't watch a different Freeview programme at the same time through the DVD unit.

- naming the programme is laborious, would be better if there was a quicker way to do it.
design is a bit boxy, would have been nicer a bit sleeker

- very poor quality recording. the image freezes frequently and jumps. Most recordings are unwatchable. The aerial is not the issue as it is brand new and has been tested by independent people.

- Difficult to install with a range of other appliances such as sky box, stereo, surround sound etc., poor installation instructions, hdmi not great

+ I purchased the dvd sometime ago but still unable to use same. My son, who is quite knowledgeable on these products cannot understand the instructions. My next step is to establish a professional person to deal with this problem! I am somewhat disappointed with the product.

- It is complicated to operate. Once I managed to record programmes I discovered that when I clicked OK on the required programme it recorded the previous programme. I shall never buy any electrical item on line as there is no satisfactory help line. I used the phone number for help but the person who replied was unable to help.
