would have liked it to have come with recharchable batteries as enclosed batteries ran out very quickly.
And a case to put it in would have been a nice touch

This would be a great camera if only you could take a picture once in a while. I have yet to find batteries which will take more than 3 pictures, on some occasions this camera will not even take one picture with brand new batteries. Although the camera may be a reasonable price it'll cost you a fortune in batteries to run the thing.

Bit to chunky and gets through far to many batteries, no point having a bargain of a camera if you have to spend what you saved in batteries!!!

Good megapixels for the money
-
Very short battery life, as no option but to use the screen and is virtually impossible to see the image in bright daylight. Standard batteries lasted about 20 minutes, and that was just to familiarise myself with the functions, before a picture was taken! Even 2500ma batteries don't fare much better.Would go for a camera with a viewfinder next time, so don't have to drain the batteries using the screen for everything. Have to carry several rechargeable batteries (and some back up non rechargeable) just incase it dies 'mid-shoot'! Not as versatile as I thought, Samsung confirmed the potentially short battery life of this type of digital camera. Wish I had known before considering a purchase, all previous cameras (inc digital) had viewfinders so had not come across this before. Still finding navigation/symbols of screen menu not as easy as last camera. Disappointment of a purchase I am afraid.

Camera Type

Compact
There are 2 main types of camera: The SLR and the Compact.
SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. SLR cameras use a prism to reflect the exact image as seen through the lens and so offers a more accurate viewfinder. SLR cameras have detachable lenses offering greater flexibility if you wish to take a variety of different photographs.
Compact cameras have a built in lens and an ‘above lens’ viewfinder which is less accurate but they are often cheaper, more sleekly designed and easier to carry anywhere with you to capture that moment perfectly without having to fiddle with complex settings or a bag full of lenses.

Digital Zoom Ratio

10
Not to be confused with optical zoom, digital zoom enlarges a portion of the image thus simulating optical zoom. In doing so, some image quality is lost.
Image Stabilisation

No
If a photo is taken at a slow shutter speed, or at a long focal length, the effects of ‘hand shake’ will be amplified. Some cameras come with built-in image stabilisation which is designed to act against this to produce sharper images.
It’s great for low light shots without a tripod, like at a gig.

Almost all modern cameras have autofocus. Manual focus allows you to override the autofocus and set the distance yourself. This is especially useful if your camera is struggling to focus in a low-light or confusing scene.

Yes
Having a timer function is essential if you want to get into the shot yourself. Make sure your camera has this feature if you plan to go on holiday and capture photos of you and your friends or family having fun together.
Under Water

No
An under water feature means your camera is safe to dive with, usually between 3 and 5 metres. Most dSLR cameras will require expensive separate housing so consider investing in a waterproof digital compact first.
