Samsung LE19B450 Reviews: Series 4, 19" Screen LCD HD Ready TV

+ Bought this to wall mount in the kitchen and take in the caravan when touring. It has a true HD screen, Dolby digital+ sound and SRS tru surround HD which all make it a very very good TV indeed. Its software is also upgradeable via a USB stick - files are on the Samsung website (rather than wait for over the air upgrades). Another excellent feature is that the stand converts to a wall mount saving you even more money! In all, truly excellent value.

- The viewing angle is very poor - can't see any picture at all if I try to view while putting the kettle on! The sound is loud enough - but oh dear it is tinny - I've tried all the settings (including the graphic equalizer which only moves sound between left & right speakers?) to improve the sound quality with little joy. 'Movie' setting seems to give just a little base, but not enough. Don't know who Samsung got to test this design before it went on sale but they did a poor job. I must admit I did purchase knowing about the tinny sound (from previous reviews on reevoo). So I'm generally happy with the set.

+ The picture and soun quality are both extremely good.

- The stand was hard to get off, and perhaps it should'nt come already assembled.

+ Nice design, clear and responsive menu system. Good picture quality on most channels. Very simple to install.

- Could be easier to switch between analog and digital TV channels as they have same channel numbers but there is no "ATV/DTV" button on the remote.

+ This model is compact, has a good finish to it and was reasonably priced for a main brand product.

- One negative comment that I would make is in reference to the picture quality, but this I believe is soley down to the fact that the television is not connected to a main aerial & so relies on a digital portable aerial. I have also found that the sound is a bit 'tinny' but this could merely be down to it not having been set up correctly.

+ This product, being a new design, is a treat to view. The controls, by the remote, are very manageable. I found it easy to up-date when new channels are found etc. An excellent buy.

+ Great looking set - good picture (although doesn't look as good if closer than a couple of feet away) - decent EPG

- Sound is only just OK ..... and in anything but a really small space I found myself turning up the volume to at least threequarters if there was any background noise.
Can't see the point in the unnecessary clear bottom of the set with a red line in it. Just seems aesthetically useless ..... but you tend not to notice it.

+ Its a good all round performer at a competitive price ideal for its location in our kitchen.Although its connected to an indoor aerial picture is very good and interference is minimal.

- No real issues spring to mind at this early stage.
