The Pioneer range of Kuro screens are awesome , image quality is the best you will find and especially good with dark/night scenes. Play a Blu Ray DVD on this TV and the picture and audio quality are stunning. I am using the tv with a dedicated home theatre speaker/amp system but the Pioneer"s own audio is very good giving a rich and crisp sound with plenty of depth. Lots of inter connects , Hdmi/scart etc. Overall a fantastic Plasma screen

Good looking TV. Picture quality fab and not bad on the sound either. Top TV and blows all others out of the water - for the time being anyway.

Manual not very good at explaining how to get the best settings for each particular input. I eventually found them on AV forum - some guys had done all the hard work and posted the optimum settings :).
Default settings will not produce the best picture!

Fabulous picture quality viewing digital broadcasts and dvds with sharp images, vibrant colours and superb blacks living up to all of the advertising claims. Slightly softer images with analogue broadcasts, especially with older material filmed several years ago but you get this with conventional tvs as well so it's no fault of this set.
Would certainly recommend it to film enthusiasts who like watching dvds and have a decent surround sound system looking for the true cinema experience. Best available at the moment for the price as it uses the same plasma panel as the more expensive PDP428XD model without the picture in picture facility and has a removable stand included as well.

Superb picture. Handles standard definition TV without looking grainy.
Big but not too big for everyday use.
Plasma has fast refresh rates so handles movement well so good for sports and movies.
Plasma has more natural colours - films become more immersive.
-
More expensive than LCD.
Not full 1920 x 1080 HD
Black shiny finish needs lots of dusting.
Plasma screens faid after years of use. Probably good for about 7 years ?
Not much really, I'm very happy with mine.

everything!! superb on normal DVD, superb on freeview absolutely NO need for 1080p. Have yet to see it with a Blue Ray but in the shop it looked amazing. Do not buy LCD buy plasma, buy this!
Spent ages looking at ALL makes LCD vs Plasma etc - in summary - plasma miles better for films, sports and rich colours on wildlife. Panasonic no where near as good for only a couple of hundred less, LG/Samsung poor on sports or freeview.
And the bonus....it looks amazing and you'll be the proud owner of the benchmark of 42"TVs. Buy, buy, buy

Aside from picture quality, build etc, it has extensive menus allowing you to adjust just about everything - unlike the other makes i've had where the options were rather limited.
-
The black finish around the screen is extremely sensitive to scratching, even with the softest cloth you will draw lines in it and because this part of it attracts so much dust its quite annoying.

The design and build quality is excellent, as it is with all Pioneer products - you get what you pay for for sure, even though at quite a higher price than similar models from the more popular manufacturers.
The display specification may not be full HD but the picture is still supurb viewing HD satellite programs and DVDs.
It comes with both the stand and speak, something the other Pioneer displays have as optional extras.
-
This particular model has the undermount speaker built in, unlike the majority of the other Pioneer displays. If you have an AV unit and surround speakers, which I plan on upgrading to, it would be great to be able to remove the speak.
The remote is rather large.

Very good colour and DEEP blacks.
I have both a SKY HD and a SKY+ box, the difference between the SKY+ and SKY HD box is negligible.
The best SD picture I've seen on large plasma, close to what you would expect on CRT TV.
Easy to use, good configurable options through the menu system. Impressive EPG for Digital TV.
Plenty of connections. AV, PC, HDMI etc. No humming which you sometimes get on some plasma TVs.
-
With a HD DVDs (wide screen) signal you will get blank\black bands on the top and bottam of the screen because it can't map the resolution exactly, so it has to scale them, which is a tad disappointing. Sound good but not great, I would suggest you wire your sound through a stereo or 5:1 equipment.
The frame is a wider than on some LCDs I've seen, so looks a bit bulky.

I was initially worried whether the size of the thing would look wrong in our living room, but it looks fantastic. It is really great to have a TV that does not have an enormous "backside". I'm lucky to have a large space and it's perfect. There are enough inputs and connectiosn to satisfy any requirement for addtional equipment. I have a Sony PS3 connection. It would be nice if a version was offered that didn't include the speaker soundbar along the bottom border of the TV - I and surely many others who invested in this quality of equipment would be doing the same for audio and therefore investing in their own sound system, making the built-in speakers redundant. In saying that, the built-in speakers were excellent in the week or two that I used them.

‘HD Ready’ is a Europe-wide standard designed to made HD technology less confusing. HD Ready TVs must have

• An HDMI or Digital Video Interface (DVI interface)
Full HD is a higher standard. Full HD TVs have screen resolutions of 1080p and can output at least 24 frames per second.
Full HD is becoming common, but you won’t see Full HD on normal TV channels for a long time, so it remains optional for many people.
