PHILIPS RQ1095

+ The unit is very quiet and very stylish. It outperforms other electric shavers I've had but they have been a fifth of the price and I don't believe the pricing ratio is reflected in the performance ratio. i.e the shaver is not 5 times better than other shavers I've bought. Shaving rash is less prominent, but is still there.

- Contrary to PR marketing and some other quotes the shaver does not shave as close as a traditional wet shave. I personally feel this can never happen when the blades are behind a protective covering. The cleaning unit works fine but is no better than rinsing the unit under the tap. I would recomend a Philips Arcitect shaver but probably a model without the expensive unit as the shaver then becomes better value for the money.

- bad shaves...not the same as manual shaver

+ comfortable to hold and use, easy to clean, and looks good

- would like to be able to use the cleaner only instead of charging every time, to allow the battery to run down occasionally
