+ Large hard drive capacity, large RAM , fast CPU

- Power socket too close to DVD drive. Tray can get tangled in power lead sometimes.

- no backup disks or documentation however you can create your own backup disks

- Bit heavy for a 15.4" laptop, but nothing I can't get over.

+ After many hours of going through all the specs, and product read ups for a decent laptop PC, I eventually settled for the Philips 7511 recon PC. It measures up to all the recommended specs, very fast and with the huge hard drive plenty storage space !! For the price paid, I have got myself a real bargain.

+ The 4GB Ram memory could not be matched at this price. The hard disk is huge.
It was easy to set up and to create back up disks.
It has HDMI connectivity to the data projector I have.

- I don't particularly like the touchpad opting instead for a wireless mouse. But it is hard to get round doing something better than the pad.

+ quite stylish laptop, thats powerful enough to handle most things easily. lots of features.

- tendency for pixel burnout. - first one cluster burnt out and was replaced only for the second one to have a couple as well. as thyre not in such a prominnent position so i kept it

- Position of the USB ports is really awkward (bottom right on the side).
There are only TWO USB ports - on a modern PC this isn't really enough. That said, a 4-port adapter only cost me 2.99 so it's not THAT big a deal.
DVD drive is very plasicky and feels very cheap compared to the rest of the machine.

- dead pixels. sounds like a strangled cat .unable to make back up disks as someone made back up disk before i recieved lap top

+ Great webcam, loads of memory, fast processor, big disk

- Like all high powered laptops, battery life is around 2 hrs ... for truly mobile that should ideally be 3+

- Single left and right buttons have to be pressed at the outer edge to function.

+ Good laptop that does everything I want it to do, battery life good, plenty of memory to play games etc. Only slight downside is that it is quite heavy, not a problem but I wouldn't like to carry it around all day.

+ speed of machine , size of hard driver, picture quality, very clean lines quite light.

- only two usb ports and both next to the dvd drive so cables can foul the drive when ejecting / loading cds and dvds maybe they could have put the usb ports on the back of the machine. The manual for the machine isn't clear about all the various ports etc for this machine a bit too general. I am not sure that the processor in the machine is the correct one as I thought it was meant to be 2.2GHz but it shows up as 2 GHz.

+ Well designed, solid feel without being too heavy. Great software bundle, great performance - on par with equivalent Sony Vaio's.

+ I like the design, size, style and weight. Longer battery life would be more beneficial as isn't that the point of it being a laptop in the first place?

- The battery life is absolute rubbish and only lasts about 45 mins! If the products were reconditioned properly then they would be ok but they seem to just be put back to factory settings and sent out again...this is the FOURTH machine in about 8 weeks! So infuriating and turns out to be not the bargain you were hoping for. This laptop has lasted about 6 weeks so far and only goes faulty if you try to play games like tetrus with the arrow keys!

- At the time of purchase, i was told that the laptop is 2.2GHz but when i started it, it actually was 2.0GHz, which was a disappointment for me because i was looking for a laptop that is above 2.0GHz.
