Arrived in a well protected package, which was easy to remove the TV from and assemble it on to the table stand provided. Setting up the TV was automatic and wasn't problematic, plenty of connections for my other systems (2 DVDs, VCR, SKY and Bose) to connect to. I was up and running in no time, watching a DVD with a great picture on the TV, with the benefit of listening through my Bose system; however, the TV speakers with sudo 3D sound is quite acceptable also. All in all, well impressed, and betters my other 2 LCD TVs.

Excellent TV, it will be even better when HD tv is fully available. DVD's are shown is superb quality almost like being a the cinema.
-
Its quite deep for a flat screen which when wall mounted means it a fair way off the wall. Also to get the best signal a very expensive cable is recommended but we were not advised of this at time of purchase.

Very pleased with this tv. Although it seemed huge to start with, we would now hate going back to a smaller set. The picture is clear - it would benefit from surround sound but we do not feel this is essential.

The PHILIPS 42PF5521 has a pretty good picture and a good set of interfaces plus the range of HDMI definitions / refresh rates makes it work really will with my media center PC
-
this product has the worst manual and setup facilities I have seen for years, the Philips help desk is very little help for anything, the plugs are hard to access as they face down in a fairly small area at the back and there was a fault in the original set I received - it turned itself off and back on -and it had to be replaced - the replacement is working fine

Great TV, picture and sound quality are pretty good. The unit looks realy nice with the high polished black band on the out side edge. I was a bit worried about the reviews on the bad sound but it's pretty good for normal TV viewing. If you are a HD/DVD fanatic and have to have loud quality surround sound I suggest you get a theater system to attach to it.

Reflection on the screen is still very evident even though there is supposed to be a non reflective coating.

Great value for money. Picture quality is excellent and the casing is very sleek and stylish.Setting up with cable and wii was fairly straight forward. At first the size of the screen seems rather too big but you would be amazed at how quickly you get used to it. Also bought a glass and chrome stand to set it on which was a sensible buy (although it did come with its own wall mount)

Digital tuner is very easy. Though where I live I regularly lose Channel 4 England and all ITV networks when signal strength is 3 or below. The sound quality is particulary good when listening via a set of headphones.
-
The fact that 2 adults were needed to attach the mounting plinth to the actual plasma screen. Not only because of the weight involved but the fact the the plasma screen had to be laid down flat onto which the plinth was fitted. Excesssive levels of heat are generated from the unit when on for long periods however keeping a nearby window open solves this!

Its the picture quality that lets it down, with a supposed 6mili second response time I was told that this would be great for football. However as I purchased mid season, I never really got to view the full quality till now.
Lets be honest IT IS ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH FOR FOOTBALL. Lets watch 22 pixels run round a green haze called a pitch.
DO NOT BUY.

Set up was very easy in terms of both channel finding and external component fix
-
Sound quality in itself is OK but there is an excessive background electrical component hum which alters according to the brightness of the picture and is audible in all but the loudest action scenes, thereby making the whole viewing experience unenjoyable. The TV has been back for repair 3 times (installation engineers agreeing that noise not acceptable) but no joy - currently awaiting further comment from Philips but this now over the 4 business day response promise.

• An HDMI or Digital Video Interface (DVI interface)
Full HD is a higher standard. Full HD TVs have screen resolutions of 1080p and can output at least 24 frames per second.
Full HD is becoming common, but you won’t see Full HD on normal TV channels for a long time, so it remains optional for many people.
