Philips GC4630/02 Iron Reviews: Steam Iron

+ Appear robust. The iron came with good features including automatic power off, though I have not tested the effectiveness of most of the features.

- Very heavy. Not as effective as I wanted in removing creases in pure cotton material. Not sure if it merits the money I spent on it.

As I live in a hard water area I have to buy distilled water for this iron. It gets through a lot so is expensive to run.

- Runs out of water quite quickly and the water jug was broken in the box on arrival

- gets very very hot, good for ironing obviously but be careful to keep your hands from the plate.

+ easy to use, auto switch off if left on, good big tank for water/steam and point of iron is slightly shaped for when doing shirts around buttons!

- has not got a good base for wrapping the cord around when storing but everything else is really good only a bad point if had to find one!

+ it a good iron heavier than some people may like good flex length. Just what I wanted very good

+ The bad points are far outweighed by the good - you only have to go over an item once for the creases to come out, the weight allows the creases to be ironed on the 1st attempt therefore saving time and effort

- it is slightly heavy
it needs filling up with water quite regularly
