Stunning picture quality with very natural colour. HD is fabulous, its like looking out of your window so pure is the picture. Remote control is easy to use with good clear markings on the buttons. Good looking TV although I would have preferred silver surrounds as this blends into the room easier.
-
There are no bad points but a touch more "presence" in the sound and could we have a choice of colour i.e. Black or Silver.

Looks fab, easy to set up. Great picture quality & sound quality. I had been told we may not really notice the difference between normal & HD but the difference is clear HD is perfect shame all programmes are not transmitted in HD.

Not sure this would be best choice for viewing in brightly lit rooms.

Excellent image quality of this set. The advertised "infinite blacks" may not be realistically possible but I've not seen many other televisions come this close. Plug in a blu-ray player and this television comes to life and produces outstanding image that pops vibrant and luscious colour. Excellent motion that leaves LCD/LED TV's in the starting blocks.
Brilliant user friendly remote with large buttons.
Standard definition images are handled very well producing a better viewing experience than many other large sized TV's handicapped by poor image sources.
Freesat and Freeview tuners are both quick and provide a decent image quality. Freesat HD channels allow the tv to stretch it's legs producing a very strong image quality.
-
This TV is not cheap with many other 42" 1080p models available for less however none that meet the spec of the G10.
3rd HDMI input is on the side which may annoy some.
Higher energy consumption than LCD's

Very good picture through standard sky set up. Freesat is easy to set up yourself but only has one HD channel(BBC HD). Awesome for gaming and watching films.
-
The sound only has 2 channels to choose from - music or speech - could have had pre-sets for cinema. some times when watching films the music seems a lot louder than the talking.

As a bit of a technochump, I found this very easy to install. The picture quality is as good as I've sen anywhere. Sounds pretty good too, although I haven't really got anything to compare with here. Still makes me feel good when I walk into the lounge! Football and wildlife on HD is very impressive.
-
Not really a bad point about the telly, but the viewing experience. The picture quality is so good, it shows up every imperfection in the signal, so if you've been watching Freesat HD, then switch to DVB you have to get used to the deterioration.

The programme guide, is far inferior to the Sony systems which we are used to. To browse stations, the current viewing is cut off, rather than running in a smaller screen. The viewing of channels at a later time is complicated and often results in a "timer" being set when not wanted.

I thought the technology would be beyond me but I am so pleased with everything about the Panasonic TX-P42G10 B as everything is built in. No more boxes and gadgets to work out how to use. The quality and design of the product is first class.

None found up to press although with all products the manuals are a bit too much to take in. If anything all companies should make their manuals user friendly. This is not a complaint against the product.

Smart looking TV which benefits from wall mounting. Excellent picture quality (especially in the programmes which are broadcast in HD)
-
Rear connection points for HDMI cables etc. become rather inaccessible when TV is mounted flush to a wall. Ideally they would be situated along the bottom of TV as opposed to half way up the back.
If you are connected by cable the Freesat function and freeview cannot be used (without installing a satellite dish). This may seem rather obvious but was not explained by any sales person prior to purchase.

Having done the research of LCD/Plasma TVs in the market for over a month, finally decided on this. I should say, the research didn't go wrong. This Plasma is amazing.. quality of HD picture is brilliant.. both from Freesat and from Sky HD.. haven't tried bluray yet.. but downloaded some HD videos(.MKV) and converted them to AVCHD format and played from the built-in card reader.. This feature is so funky and clarity of AVCHD picture through the card reader is better than Sky HD images.. Tried DVD videos as well. and were really good..
Initial set-up is very easy and to tune various settings is quite straight forward.. I personally preferred Normal picture mode with some other settings adjusted..
I definitely recommend this for anyone who's looking for a quality TV at an affordable price.. Even though I have put some bad points below, they are just minor points which we can live with..
-
Quality of SD picture through Sky HD box is poor.. but several adjustments on the Sky box sends native images to the tele, which made SD quality better..
There are only two sound settings.. not much to play with there.. quality of sound is just ok.. not brilliant..
Some of the picture settings are not available in the UK version.. e.g gamma, THX etc.. that's a bit disappointing..

Image quality and stability is amazing. Freesat is better quality than Sky! Freesat gives me nearly as much as Sky, if it had the top sports channels it would be bye bye Sky. BBC and ITV HD on Freesat too is first class. 600MHz gives stutter free sports and action all the time. I would of liked the Internet option but teamed up with my PS3, home Ethernet and laptop (also Blu ray and 1080 with HDMI connection) and a small app I get all that anyway. Via the PS3 and/or Laptop games and Blu Ray are stunning.
-
I would of marked the sound quality higher, it is good but it is spoilt by the fan noise which is noticeable on quieter transmissions, its not major just an irritation, apart from that the sound is very good. On FreeSat the unit seems to switch into standby randomly and intermittently it may be a setting I can adjust but I have not found it yet.

connections are a real pain and difficult to get scarts to stay in place. Very little space for these and the TV is useless with a compatible wall mount as it has to sit well off the wall for the connection cables to stay in place. I have reverted to the stand even though I wanted a wall mount as there are just too many cables hanging down and trying to stay in place. This is a huge dissapointment for me and my family

A fantastic HD picture which seems to get better and better over time.
SD picture quality is amazing, apart from with very low quality channels, which appear grainy and washed out. Sound quality has been criticised by others on forums but is excellent.

Needs a little bit of configuration to get the best picture at first.

Absolutely stunning picture, great motion, one of the best tvs for the money.
-
sound by itself isnt too great, definitely benefits from an external speaker system, as is the case with most flat screen tvs.

Concerned about the availability of remote control after this model goes out of production.
Occasional loss of signal from satellite
Very slight background noise from fans.....dust-proof?

Easy to set up and install. I was quite surprised at how small the stand was for a 42" whish was great as it fits nicely onto my old 32" tv stand so saved a few pennies there. The sd card slot is a welcome extra too for showing off pics without having to load up a pc.
Picture quality is great even without hd, but truely comes to life when watching hd channels or blu ray discs. The sound is also great, and so really cant fault this tv for the price!

Unbelievable images especially for sports and outdoor scenery where it looks almost 3-D whether watching HD channels or standrad ones.

All the features, including Freesat, 600Ghz really does prevent Motion Blur, superb picture quality in 1080p HD viewing

Still a little old school in design, Panasonic could have incorporated something a little different to make this superb Plasma stand out from the rest.
