Excellent value, stunning design, great picture quality even with a £5 aerial.

Have fully read instructions, but so far can't organise favourite channel, can't flip back to previous channel. Sound quality good but to hear detail needs to be loud, then again we are sitting further back from TV, really need surround sound speakers.

Picture quality is outstanding, especially from Sky+ (normal, not even HD) or DVD.

Takes a long time to turn on (3-4 seconds). Digital free-to-air picture is good, but not brilliant (probably determined more by quality of signal, which isn't great where I live).

Excellent looking plasma - the integrated stand is a real plus. It's relatively easy to use, has pretty good picture quality and very good connectivity.
-
The picture quality isn't as good as I'd hoped, but is probably the best that can be achieved with plasma technology. The audio isn't up to much - time to buy a surround sound system!

Good value for under a grand. Generally good picture quality overall, outstanding for wildlife programs in non HD mode, don't have HD mode so can't comment on picture in HD mode.
-
On some static images, e.g. on interviews with a static backdrop, there can be noticable shimmering (NR modes don't help). It can can on occassions struggle with colour definition on dimly lit movie scenes, a bit like an over-compressed jpeg image. Noise Reduction mode (NR) is not retained after transition through standby.

Superb picture quality, the detail even using an analogue tuner is a vast improvement on my old set. I haven't noticed any of the problems that sometimes affect plasmas, images are sharp and stable no matter what is on screen.
Even better was the fact that I bought this online at about 350 pouns cheaper than the shops. A great bargain, I'm more than happy.
-
The sound quality of the set itself is not brilliant but if you link up to a surround system it's more than enough to keep me happy - music videos sound great and there is plenty of detail.
Other than that it's a cracker of a set.

Expert reviews for Panasonic Viera TH-42PX60
TechRadar expert review
It seems that size is also reflected in price with this 50-inch plasma screen offering from Panasonic - at ¬£3,000, it's not cheap. But if it delivers the sort of performance we now expect from Panasonic plasmas, that extra grand will look like money well spent.Aesthetically the TH-50PX600 doesn't really do much for us - at least unless you place it on its floor-standing cabinet. But its connections are always easy on the eye, boasting as they do twin HDMIs, a PC jack, component video inputs, a front-mounted SD card slot for playing or recording JPEGs and MPEG4 movies, plus all the…
