+ well thought out remote, excellent large teletext memory for fast reading of sub-pages,
good range of hdmi and other sockets, excellent value for money.

- while excellent picture with 'dynamic;setting the cinema, normal and eco xettings are somewhat dim in normal room lighting conditions.

+ Beautiful picture with good colours. I use it mainly in cinema mode.

- The sound is pretty poor. Any attempt at increasing the bass to reasonable levels results in distortion. Also, I'd really like the video sockets under the front flap to be located on the side at the back, like other manufacturers do.

+ Very good alround package, sharp picture and good contrast with vibrant colours and deep blacks. Easy to set up and install with excellent features.

- Some fast moving images and text can show signs of "ghosting", but nothing too noticeable.

+ A cracking TV that just seems to get better and better - I do not have an HD system but, quite frankly, this TV does not need it.

- The stand attracts dust like you would not believe.

+ Amazing SD picture. Upscaled DVD picture even better.

- Sound adequate for normal volume levels, but maybe not quite as top notch as the picture.

+ Fantastic free view and standard Def image quality. High Def image quality Via HDMI and Blu Ray is great with very deep black levels,great detail, and no motion blur (that tends 2 effect some plasma TV's).Its an easy TV 2 set up, and the sound is fine. Very very good TV at a fantastic price.

- Minor criticism only - the on/off button not the easiest to locate, blends in with the sleek design on the bottom rim of the TV.

+ TX-37PX80B - Fantastic picture. Not full HD but I don't think we miss it at this screen size. Freeview and DVDs (via SCART) look much better than I expected. HUMAX PVR via SCART looks just as good as built-in Freeview. Blu Ray and PS3 (via HDMI) look sensational. Glass fronted screen ideal for protection from little hands - kids would destroy an LCD! SD card reading is a nice feature. PC input works nicely too but resolution not supported on my PC so it gets stretched a little bit. Sound very good but not exceptional, hence 8/10.

- I don't know where I can store such a large empty box until it may not be needed.I have kept it just in the eventuallity of the set having to be sent back due to failure but the box is too big to go through the loft trapdoor!
The handbook is complex and needs to have some simple jargon/explanation of some of the terms and setup/connection options and possibilities.

+ Looks good. Good picture - much better than parents LCD.

- The surround and base is gloss and seems to get dusty instantly. They provide you with a special cloth to clean it so you don't scratch it. I'd have preferred a matt black surround and not to have to worry about it!

Need to be careful (full screen picture with lower constrast, non static images) with the screen for the first 200h to avoid image retention problems - but worth it.

- Originally liked the smart shiny finish but now think a matt finish would be better as the highly reflective nature of the casing can cause distracting images e.g. windows and lights.

- the ventilation is a bit noisy. buzz sound sometime audible. we had the tv changed and the second one came with same "feature"

+ Great picture, excellent contrast, loads of connections, good user interface, like the SD card slot as well.

- Slight buzzing, noticable if it's very quiet. I understand this is normal with plasmas.

+ Great picture on DVDs and digital TV although older DVDs (especially old films) and TV programmes (on digital TV) can look either grainy or fuzzy on a large screen. Good blacks, no motion blurring, menus good. Although you must calibrate the TV for the first 200 hours and not have any areas with black bands (i.e. widescreen movies or 4:3 TV programmes); this can be avoided using the ASPECT options to stretch the picture or zoom in.

- Not 1080 high definition but apparently there are no 37" plasma screens that are 1080 high definition (normal DVDs look great though so not really an issue).

- The sound can become distorted when turned up to a certain level, although when watching normal TV it doesnt make a difference.

+ Easy to set up, instructions nice and clear, plenty of inputs and outputs, internet derived programmes from major broadcasters good quality, able to use Qlink on 2 year old Panasonic HDD to record programmes via TV guide.

- Speakers system not quite up to old JVC but will get external sound system later

+ SD TV on this unit is very good
100 HZ is also very useful when watching fast motion sporting action
Being 37" Plasma which is a rare commodity

+ Set up menu and facilities very easy to use. Good design, as the outer frame is small allowing the TV to 'blend' in a bit more with the room. We were worried about 37" as we thought it would look huge in our room but it blends nicely and with its slim design looks no bigger that our old 28"CRT. Cable connections are good and easily accessible. This is the smallest Plasma we could find and very good value. It was cheaper than many smaller LCDs but I believe provides for a much better image quality. With Panasonics reputation for quality and the price this is a must buy.

- Not the fault of the TV but if you are buying a HD ready Plasma or LCD you have to accept that some older or lower resolution programmes will not upscale perfectly and you may get some image blurr and blockiness. The old CRT image was sharper all round but if you want the big screen and slim design then the occasional blurr on the old images is part of the territory. The TV did quite well in adjusting in most cases

+ I am well pleased with this - the picture is clear, bright and with no blurring. Loads better that the old CRT telly I had before. It was so easy to set up and get running. I'm not a great tech guy so have not played with many settings but it was great straight out of the box. Note - Can't comment on the sound as running through a surround sound system but everything else is great - well recommended.
