Very easy to set up.

Can see images and titles from other programmes on the screen at times. Depending on the programme, there can be lines, both vertical and horizontal, bit disappointing.

Nice, sleek design with easy to navigate menu's. Black levels are good which enhances viewing of many of my favourite films. As with most modern tv's the sound is very good.
-
I don't have an aerial for the tv i just use a sky cable - problem is when switching the tv on it always reverts to the non existent analogue signal - there is an option on the menu screens for it to revert to the sky signal when switching on but it doesn't seem to work and although it's only one button press to flick onto sky i do find it rather annoying. I am happy with the picture but i expected more from a plasma. I couldn't afford a 1080p plasma but i think a modern 1080p lcd was in my price range and this may have been a better option. Also the p42c10b is slightly cheaper - we have this at work and i dont see any difference with the picture quality. Sound is good but at high volumes the speakers vibrate and echo.

Excellent design, very sleek and modern. I love the memory card slot at the back so i can play my photos on a huge screen and have the option to record them onto disc ( i have a dvd recorder ) At the moment we do not have a 1080p source and considering this is not a 1080p tv i think you will be very pleased with it when a source is run through, if you read what t.v guide which is what we did when looking for the best tv for value this far outweighs any other 42" plasma on the market. The sound quality is excellent. easy to read manual, trust me you will need to read it. easy to mount on stand!
-
Needs cleaning to often, remote control a bit of a pain to use.

This TV was purchased after returning a cheaper TV to another store. The difference between the 2 is vast. The Panasonic was an excellent purchase, very good value for money. Took 2 mins to set up. Excellent picture and sound. Love it!
-
Lots of features on tv which I'm not entirely sure about. But I havn't the patience to sit and read through the instructions. Its just fine the without fiddling about with anything.

Picture quality is excellent with both SD and HD. It may not be full HD but Bluray looks brilliant. Colours are vibrant contrast excellent and motion handling when watching sports is also very good, better than my previous LCD HDTV.
-
Sound can be a bit indistinct when at high volume, then again this is the case with most TVs, I output the sound through my hi-fi amp and no problem with big action movies!

Great mid-price model TV, with really good quality sound and picture for the price. Plenty of external outlets for running extra kit like sound surround, DVD, videocam, digital photos, etc. etc. Very straight forward to install and set up with a sensible instruction booklet that doesn't require a PhD in electronics to understand!
-
Wide, shiny black screen surround and stand, which in my view, cheapens the look of what is otherwise a great mid-price TV that does exactly what it says on the tin.

What i dislike and can be very annoying is you have to use the TV remote to turn the sound up, change channel etc. It will not accept the SKY remote as a default.

Excellent quality picture, very easy to set-up and use, great value for money - you'd struggle to find a 42 inch plasma of this quality for this kind of price.
-
The stand is fixed and doesn't swivel (predecessor models did have a swivelling stand).
Annoying adverts appear on the Electronic Programme Guide (I gather this is the case on all recent Panasonics).
The finish is a little plasticky (though this model isn't aimed at the top end of the market, and it certainly doesn't look cheap).

Everything one would want in a large plasma TV, the full range of inputs and outputs.
Simple to configure the various options but largely uneccessary to make adjustments.
I love the very very low power consumption whilst on standby.
Looks as good as any of the other large plasma TVs
Works great with Sky+ and it's remote controll.
Works great with the Panasonic Surround sound throughthe Viera Link
Really sharp image from a Blue Ray DVD player
-
The only small "niggle", if I had to find one, is the slightly slow speed of screen mode switching when going from standard resolution to HD resolution or vice versa.

The tv was easy to assemble and a good price for the make although the picture is quite fuzzy if you look close to the tv but perfect if away from it this isn't something i expected from a plasma it's not a problem but i just wandered why this happens!. The sound is good although the design i expected there to be silver in it at the bottom this is not the case so the picture looks a little different it's more sutle grey and that did disappoint me although i am happy all round with the tv and price and got the stand to go with it at half proce so was happy at that.

Manufacturer's Description
HD Models with 100Hz Double Scan, Superb Image Quality and Advanced Networking Capabilities
A PDP driven at 50 Hz causes an annoying flicker due to a shortage in the number of pictures displayed per second. Therefore, each picture is displayed twice as if the PDP is driven at 100Hz Double Scan, i.e., the number of pictures displayed is increased to reduce the flicker.
Next-generation black reproduction has been achieved by improving the panel production process, incorporating the new Real Black Drive system (a pre-discharge control system), and raising the base illumination. Even in movie scenes where it is difficult to achieve a fine balance of light and dark, VIERA renders images just as the director intended.
VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. VIERA Link performance has been further enhanced with LUMIX digital camera connection. By connecting a new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output terminal to VIERA, you can use the VIERA remote to control the playback of images stored on the camera.
It’s easy to view photo images with the SD Memory Card slot. Watch and show your photos right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music.
V-Audio Surround gives depth-sound-image effect by early-reflection data based on actual room measurement, that is generated from digital signal processor.
