+ Freeview enables great auto wide screen and is so very easy to record programms from all cannels including freeview. Masses of disc space. Easy editing to disc, I am now able to build up a great library of music DVD's

- Sometimes cuts off the end of a recorded progamme when using the functions feature.

+ Excellent design, easy to use, easy to transfer recordings between hdd/dvd

- No search/find facility in the EPG, no Divx support (european models have this but not UK), a little slow to start up

- Confusing operating manual,no guidance on avi-4 between digitalbox,player and t.v.

+ Excellent picture and sound quality, easy to use and almost no delay when starting manual recording.

+ Sleek look. Easy to use programming and hard drive interface. Good HD and DVD editing functions. No need to turn machine off, and can access HD when timer recording is on (major quibble with other machines I've had)

- No eject button for DVD on remote control (have to do this on machine itself). Pressing record button repeatedly to increase recording time doesn't work on remote (can do this on the machine itself). Not compatible with divx.

- Editing could be easier and better.

- Apparently no eof markers, so program replay runs over to next recording; some recordings cut off the end of preceding sections. These faults NEVER happens with my Sky box!

+ Much thought has been put into making this machine as easy to use as possible

+ Allows you to record to HD and if you decide you want to keep the programme, to transfer it to DVD

- Can't set chapters and transfer them to DVD

+ The whole package is just what we thought we wanted at the time - just look a the specification.

- What we hadn't realised would be a disadvantage is the lack of a second tuner.

+ The amount of storage is great and it is very user friendly. I found that it plays other region code dvd's too which is a bonus! I have had 2 other panasonic models in the past which both broke down so I have taken out an extended warranty with this one. So far it has been fine but we have only had it for 2 months - we will have to wait and see!

- The price! This will probably drop in time but I am somebody who likes new models straight away!
