- The battery and card cover is not very strong and the screen is hard to see in strong light, which is to be expected I suppose, but without a viewfinder it can be a bit hit or miss.

+ The quality of the photos is immense. So far, everyone who has seen this camera and its photos have been keen to buy one themselves. It's a great size and light, and the screen is very big.

+ Excellent Point and Shoot camera.Ideal for the person who cannot be bothered reading all the technical detail to make their own adjustments. The ability to adjust is there though, if you want it. Small and light weight therefore easily fits in a pocket. Big clear screen and easy to use. Very pleased with the camera particularly 5x optical zoom at this price range.

- None Really, although a viewfinder would help in the sun but not many cameras have one these days.

+ "Intellegent Auto" I brought the camera just before my holiday. I took over 400 pictures in varying conditions, Many of which I took with IA and then the same shot with manual settings. IA outperformed my manual settings 90% of the time. The IA button and simple menus are easy to use.
Battery life excellent. Very quick processing time which makes the burst feature work well.
Clear screen although a little bit difficult to see in bright light even with the power screen on.
An almost idiot proof camera ( well it worked for me)

- No case supplied.
Charging from USB would be a useful feature.

+ It's very light to carry around and has a good screen size. Has lots of features and many different 'modes' of picture taking ie party, scenery etc. Face detector and intelligence modes very good. Love the slide show display through TV, just connect camera to tv choose the music setting and slide show of all pics - great for entertaining!

- Zoom button on the top of camera can be a bit fiddly but ok once you master it. Have had a few blurry pics during moving shots (haven't found the sport mode yet and still getting to grips with all functions).

There are 2 main types of camera: The SLR and the Compact. SLR stands for Single Lens Reflex. SLR cameras use a prism to reflect the exact image as seen through the lens and so offers a more accurate viewfinder. Press the iA button, aim, and shoot. With the FS25/15, taking great photos is that easy. iA mode activates six detection and correction functions – MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabilizer) to compensate hand-shake, Intelligent ISO Control to detect subject movement, Face Detection AF/AE to focus on faces in the frame and remove unwanted red-eye, Intelligent Scene Selector to select the optimal scene mode automatically, Intelligent Exposure to correct the brightness level, and AF Tracking to continually track a moving subject and keep it in focus.

The DMC-FS15 features a 29mm wide-angle 5x optical zoom LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens (35mm film camera equivalent: 29-145mm). Renowned in the film camera world for its superb performance and compact size, the LEICA DC VARIO-ELMAR lens inherits its outstanding quality and form. The 29mm wide-angle lens can be used to capture groups of people at parties and other indoor scenes, as well as magnificent architectural structures and landscapes. The 5x optical zoom allows you to capture distant subjects without degrading image quality.

The DMC-FS15’s 2.7-inch LCD has a total of 230,000 dots for high resolution. It features the Intelligent LCD function, which increases the backlight brightness in 11 steps according to the ambient light intensity. At the highest of these 11 steps, the LCD backlight becomes approx. 1.4 times brighter than normal. This makes both shooting and viewing photos easier and more convenient.
