+ Full of functionality and yet easy to use to switch on and watch. The design is not the super slim bevel of some flat screens but at 8.3cm and only 27Kg it fits nicely on the wall. The picture quality is the reason you'd buy a TV and the HD display is excellent. Run a Blue Ray disc and the quality is purely outstanding. Sports play exceptionally well - why I bought it as it's all I watch - with thye 600Hz,I'm sure playing its part ... not got a grip of that though myself.
Normal TV, typically, is not completely true but as far as HD picture quality this is as good as I've seen and it leaves friends and visitors open mouthed.

- I haven't played with the sound much but thus far it rates as average until I get to grips with film and song.
Other than that no bad points yet.

+ Easy setup of channels. Good standard terrestrial picture. Very good standard deffinition Freesat picture. Excellent HD picture with Freesat HD & upscaled DVD - don't have Blu-ray so can't comment. THX mode handles picture detail, colour saturation & motion particularly well producing natural rather than excessively detailed images. Shows up the production quality of the source being watched. Sound very good but as with most panel tv's limited by shape of the tv.

- Remote control construction does not match the tv's quality. Some picture glare in bright light conditions. Shows up the production quality of the source being watched!

- Nothing that I've found.

+ Wonderful Picture. Breathtaking with Sky HD. In fact - the best of all the TV's.

- Viera Cast YouTube software is ropey.

+ The good points on this TV are the HD picture quality

- The bad points on this TV are the positioning of the scart and HDMI connectors if you want the TV to be flush tight with the wall (it would have been so much better had they been bottom entry!!!!)- The default channel on the TV when 1st switched on is the freeview so if you are running your SKY via HBMI cable you need to press the AV button to switch

+ we have a Pioneer which is excellent in every sense but wanted another 'quality' tv but less expensive. We purchased this Panasonic tv on-line before it was available in the shops and we have not been disappointed. The picture quality is excellent and is on a par with the Pioneer. The sound quality isn't by any means poor but could be improved. We will later look to improve this.

+ Smashing looking TV, nice clean lines, no big ugly buttons. Sound quality is fine (we are not movie buffs so not bothered about surround sound etc). Menu options are easy to follow and set up was a skoosh.

- Can't think in any - only downside is that we would have preferred an LCD TV but at the size we purchased (and after looking at working Samsungs in Comet showing normal TV pictures) we decided to go with the plasma instead - we felt it gave better normal TV watching over the Samsung, although the LCD probably appears better it on BluRay - as I said, we don't watch a lot of movies, so a clear, non patchy picture on normal TV was more important.

+ Don't use the built in speakers so can't comment. However for the rest have been very pleased. Both HD & SD broadcasts via FreeSat are excellent quality particularly like the THX mode. Also the ease with which I was able to connect it to my wireless network was great. It displays photos from the desktop PC excellently and has proved a great way for us to view these in the comfort of the lounge rather than clustered around the PC in the study.

- Bit disappointed and frustrated that MP3 and other audio files on the PC are visible over the network but not playable via the TV.
Viera cast is still somewhat limited unless you are a fan of UTube or Eurosport! More is promised soon?

+ It's a stylish tv and the picture, using my PS3 for games and blu-ray, dvd with HDMI upscaling and HD on freesat, I personally think is excellent. Watching 'Coast' on BBC HD the picture looks amazing.

- Freeview looks good but you must sit atleast 3 metres away but I believe this is common with most tvs.

TV Buyers Guide

Manufacturer's Description

Full-HD NeoPDP Model with freesat built-in, Superb Moving Picture Quality and Advanced Networking Capabilities

“freesat” is a digital satellite service that offers free HD (High-definition) TV programmes. With the V10 series, you can enjoy sharp pictures, vivid colours, multi-channel sound, and various services with the interactive contents.

600 Hz technology lets you view superb full-HD motion and still images with 1,080 lines of resolution. For even greater clarity with motion images, Panasonic uses its own unique image-analysis technology. This technology converts the motion in each scene into data, then optimises the sub-field to display fast-action scenes in full-HD resolution. And each frame is practically displayed for a shorter length of time than in previous systems, to reduce aftereffects.

VIERA’s wide colour gamut covers 120% of the HDTV colour standard. This approaches the level of colours in cinemas and produces images with extremely rich colours. THX® certification is given to TVs that are optimal for watching movies. This means that the image quality has passed the necessary criteria for brightness and contrast, making it possible to enjoy images exactly as the filmmakers intended, in your own home.

Enjoy the Internet contents right on your TV. With VIERA CAST technology, you can enjoy online content such as videos, photos, weather and stock information through an easy-to-use Web interface that’s built into the TV. No extra equipment required.

DLNA is a standard that makes digital electronics easier and more convenient to use on a home network. For example, DLNA makes it possible to watch motion and still images stored in your computer on a large-screen TV, or to watch content stored on a hard disc recorder in your living room or bedroom.

VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. What’s more, the VIERA Image Viewer provides a new photo viewing experience. Simply insert an SD Memory Card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.
