+ Very happy with product. Automatic set-up in minutes. Instructions easy to follow and remote much better than the one provided with the previous Panasonic DVD I had. Virtually silent in operation, picture quality during play back exception with the HDMI cable I purchased at the same time even though I cannot record in HD.

- Used to use video+ with my old DVD and have found recording set-up from the programme guide rather annoying.

- Some minor irritations, DVD mechanism makes clunking noises, recordings on dual-layer DVDs don't seem playable on other machines (but normal, single-layer DVDs fine).

+ Overall its a good choice, you just connect it up, switch it on and it sets its self up and tunes its self . For what you get I think its good value for the money you pay.

+ Easy to use just straight out of the box, plug in and away you go. You don't have to go hunting for a blank DVD just press record when viewing and it starts recording to the hard drive instantly.

- Bit slow on warm up after switching on, but acceptable

+ Works perfectly even though I am still having to use analogue channels through it prior to getting Freeview service. In conjunction with a Panasonic TV and an (old) Panasonic Sky box it gives a really good picture.

- The menus and the manual are not really 'intuitive', although very comprehensive.
On balance, the time delay on startup using 'powersave' makes it a clumsy alternative to normal power setting. The cost saving is not really worthwhile, although to be fair the situation might be different if I did not have to use Sky for multichannel use.

+ This kit sounds really good for the money especially when played through good speakers. The cd player is excellent and the dab radio is extremely good too. I plumb my tv freview box through it too for films and music and this is well worth doing too

- I havn't worked out yet how to quickly punch in a number for a dab radio station so I have to scroll through to the one I want which I find a bit clumsy - worth it when you get there though

It is easy to record a programme to hard disc and DVD, to copy to DVD, to copy VHS tapes to DVD and hard disc.Other functions are available but havn't needed to explore yet!

- A gentle criticism of the substantial instructions would be the lack of an overview of what each each section is trying to explain.It instructs on the functionality but not on what is trying to be achieved in general terms.

+ Quality product and fitted with Panasonics Viera-Link which is matched to my Panasonic plasma and surround sound system. Large hard drive at 160gb and easy to set up.

- HDMI takes 10 minutes to warm up before it puts out a consistent signal. We have experimented to prove that it is the Panasonic and not the TV that is the problem. A better quality cable helped but did not fully solve the problem. It's fine once warmed up. A larger hard drive would have been nice. Sometimes takes two goes to recognise remote commands in the navigator and guide.
