+ Good looking stylish TV. Good picture but obviously depends on the transmission. As with all LCD TV's, if the recieved signal isn't up to scratch the picture can be pixelated. One reason i went for this model was the inclusion of an SD card reader, unfortunately it will only accept cards up to 2GB, no good if like me your camera card is bigger..Why only 2GB?..otherwise happy with it.

+ Excellent viewing from any angle and very easy to use with freesat, sky and dvb freeview. also it looks fantastic i love the slim black around the screen its looks much better than most. the sound is excellent and its nice to have extra hdmi sockets for todays extra addons. also great for connecting as a pc monitor.

- The black shiny plastic surround tends to attract dust on a daily basis, panasonic supply a duster to clean it and it does work but you need to clean it every other day!

+ Great looks, very good connectivity. Has an SD card reader built in with easy side access. Viera link works well with other panasonic equipment (HDD/DVD recorder). Quality of finish very good, doesn't attract a lot of dust! Started to self tune at initial switch on. Very simple to set up.

- Was awkward at first to use the viera link menu with HDD / DVD recorder, but it gets easier with practice.
Doesn't recognise some digital camera video formats, particularly Nokia phones and Tevion cameras when using the SD card reader, but works fine from the AV3 input though.

+ Panasonic have created a way in which their products operate and now all of their products use the same interface and menu options which makes it (for those who know Panasonic products) a breeze to operate. The screen in crystal clear and the surround appears to draw you into the picture. The mini SD card slot, game and HDMI slots at the side is a really nice touch for ease of connection.

- The default start-up channel is Freeview Digital. The area in which I am resident doesn't have a Freeview signal so there's always a selection of buttons to push before a picture appears. I'm not sure that this is a default that can be changed. Also, it seems very slow to react to another piece of equipment being turned on (ie Apple TV or BluRay) whereas in the past (with a SCART connection) as soon as a signal was detected the channel was changed.

- Auto aspect feature will frequently change the screen ratio during certain programmes, probably a programme issue. Selecting 16:9 ratio fixes the problem for that programme but need to rember to change back afterwards . TV defaults to analogue input channel rather than SCART on switch on.

+ Smart-not obtrusive. Blends into room as border around screen very small. Good picture ( for LCD) and easy to set up.

- Speaker quality is poor, and no external speakers (unlike earlier CRT Panasonic whiich provided 2 small background speakers. A surround sound system is necesaary-but this means more mooney, boxes, controls and power! VIIERA link to the DVD recorder makes it difficult to quickly see whether you are Freeview in DVD mode or Freeview in TV mode. Very easy too start timer recording , thinking you are in DVD mode when actually yoou are in TV mode. You then find you cannot watch another programme on the TV! Benefits of VIERA are very limiited in my view-easier to forget the HDMI cable and just use a good scart cable

+ Everything, really.
Superb picture, sound better than I expected.
Great guide (EPG).
Connects to everything it should, including power amplifier and computer.

- Tuner does not decode HD Freeview. It didn't explicitly say it could, but it did say it could display HD (1080p) and had a Freeview tuner, so I expected it would.
It did not integrate well with my old (Scart) VHS/DVD player. I thought it would communicate using Q-link (forerunner to Viera-Link), but for whatever reason, I could not get the TV to control the VHS (to record programmes directly from the EPG)..

Manufacturer's Description

Full-HD Model with Superb Image Quality, Wide Viewing Angle and Advanced Networking Capabilities

The wide 178° viewing angle* ensures clear images even when viewed from an angle. The backlight’s wide transmission aperture enhances the contrast between light and dark, and improves motion-image response. *Measured at an angle where the contrast ratio is 10:1 or higher.

Enjoy realistic starlit skies right in your living room. Improvements in panel contrast and scene-adaptive contrast gamma correction have achieved a high contrast ratio of 50,000:1. The backlight tuning area is also expanded to achieve deeper blacks.

VIERA Link allows interconnected operation of various AV devices using only the VIERA remote control, by simply connecting the devices to each other by an HDMI cable. VIERA Link performance has been further enhanced with LUMIX digital camera connection. By connecting a new LUMIX camera that has an HDMI output terminal to VIERA, you can use the VIERA remote to control the playback of images stored on the camera.

It’s easy to view full-HD images with the SD card slot. Watch and show your photos and motion images right after you take them. Simply insert an SD Memory card into VIERA to display photos and full-HD videos on the large screen. You can also choose from among 3 types of background music and 4 display effects.

V-Audio Surround gives depth-sound-image effect by early-reflection data based on actual room measurement, that is generated from digital signal processor.
