+ A great little phone with all the functions a normal phone should have. I wasn't really sure about the curved design at first, but it has grown on me. The design is smart and functional. The keys are responsive and the interface spretty smooth and quick. Feature wise it has pretty much everything you would want or need. Remember this is meant to be a phone - it is not a replacement for a camera or mp3 player - if you want great pictures buy a camera; if you want the best sounding portable music system get a dedicated mp3 player. This is a hybrid system designed to give you a great phone with the benefits of things we seem to think are essentials. Having said all of this, the camera is sharp giving crisp images and the walkman function great with impressive quality. Overall, it is eveything most people will need.

- Firstly, back panel is flimsy and irritating to remove and clip back in- half the time I think I am going to break it, the sides creak a bit if squeezed, suggesting that SE cut costs a bit in order to cram functionality in and keep the overall cost down. Secondly,, the battery life isn't spectacular. You'll get plenty of days on standby, but it is fairly thirsty once you start working it! Thirdly the SIM card slot is irratating and it is difficut to remove the card without the aid of tweezers - that said, some cards are easier to remove than others - Orange cards were the most bother! sadly this pretty great phone is let down by poor undercover ergonomics and poor build - sad really as otherwise this is great phone and, if you can be careful, worth the money.

+ The camera is reasonable even though there is no flash and zoom is only available on lowest resolution. Internet browsing is clear and so are the menu settings. You can use a USB cable to connect to your computer and transfer media to and from.

- Battery can be used up quickly if you surf the internet constantly or leave it on for long periods. Constant charging is needed. Keypad is not suitable for big fingers but as I have small hands it's not a big problem.

+ I like the whole look of the phone aswell as the camera. My favourite thing is the abundance of applications and the excellent music playing capabilities.

- My only grievences with the phone is the battery life, however it seems to be improving. Also the I keep accidentally connecting to live (costing me money) because of the layour of the face buttons.

+ Great music system so if you love your music this is brill! If you like sony erricssons then you'll love this! It looks smart and the slide phone style makes it stylish and the screens quite good, not had any scratches on it yet. battery lifes ok but then again i like to play my music. And i also love the fact that its so light weight and fits un ur pocket easy!

- It could have more ringtone options, and at first it was hard to find one or two things as they were in different areas from the older sony erricssons.

- Only minor points, the keypad may be a bother if you have sausage fingers and no flash or light for the camera but this is a walkman phone at the end of the day.

Summary of Sony Ericsson W595 Reviews from Across the Web

A large memory makes this a great music phone, and with an easy to use interface, it is one of the leading in its class. Typically good Sony Ericsson build quality is beneficial, but the W595 is let down by the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack.

TechRadar expert review

Is it us, or has somebody upped the ante with mid-tier mobiles? Sony Ericsson's latest outing into Walkman territory sees the new W595 sashaying off the shelves with aplomb. Jazzy graphics, Walkman features and a fine set of fun apps, the youth market is well catered for‚Ķbut dig beneath the street-cred and there's a lot to tempt those looking for a more mature mobile. Vivid screenThe Sony Ericsson W595 is from the same mould of sliders as its W580 predecessor, but with some of the more higher-end W910i thrown in for good measure. It has many of the W910i's features, including HSDPA…
