+ Feel my computer is secure and I don't have to think about it again until my subscription is up.

- It slows my computer up a lot, especially downloading files and with startup.

- even though my product was a 3 user designed to go on up to 3 computers this should entitle me to 365 days protection on each computer but I found that Symantec start the 365 days protection from the day on which you put it on the first computer and the other 2 licences start on the same day even if your other computers are not due to have the subscription renewed.If you purchase a 3 user Norton Internet security package then you should be entitled to 365 days protection for each computer irrespective of when each computer is due to have the subscription renewed.I didn`t have this problem with Norton Internet Security 2008, I got 365 days protection on each of my computers even though their installation dates were weeks apart.I have bought the product and it should be up to me to say when my 365 days protection starts.

- SCANS TAKE FAR TOO LONG, ESPECIALLY THE FULL SYSTEM SCAN. FOUND IT ODD THAT DURING THE FULL SCAN IT FOUND A TROJAN THAT THE PREVIOUS NORTON PRODUCT HAD NOT, EVEN WITH REGULAR UPDATES AND SCANS.

+ It shows you everything. What it doesn't show you, you probably don't need to know. The settings are clearly laid out and it is very easy to customise them, the hints and advice for which settings are best for what made it quick and easy to change the product to my needs. When I was getting warning messages I couldn't resolve I was connect to a remote assistant who controlled the computer and spoke me through how he was fixing the problem. You can see everything the technician is doing and can disconnect at any moment. It was fascinating and extremely helpful.

- Perhaps that Norton in general is not completely compatible with Windows protection or AVG? Not wholly bad as Norton protects my machine well enough - also finds viruses etc that other virus protection software never detected!

+ I work in the IT field and always recommend Norton Internet Security to clients because it is so user friendly, and in the 2009 version pulse updates have been introduced allowing updates every 5 minutes or so.

- The only bad point I can think of is the reduction in size of the paper manual provided compared with the manuals provided a few years ago. However, I am aware that Symantec are only doing what all the other software companies do.

+ Over the years I've used many anti virus products. Norton now seems to detect a lot more viruses a lot earlier and deals with them satisfactorily. The default setup and interface is much better than ealier verions of Norton allowing for novices to configure it

- Still had a hiccup and had to run set up from the disc and not install from the main menu. I ran a full scan and hoped it would be quicker than the old one's but it still took well over 2 hours and there is not a lot of programs or info on my pc.

+ I buy NIS every year, and this was the easiest and quickest yet to install. It even told me that I had not removed all of my previous Symantec features and removed them itself. Liveupdate is even quicker both to dowload and install.

- When I first installed NIS and ran Liveupdate it did not complete all of them - probably because there were so many updates to catch up on - but it soon righted itself.
