the software is great, once the firmware updates get rid of the little problems anyway.
looks great, the slide out keyboard is a ncie touch and makes typing in general easier and faster.
-
the handsets are generically faulty, the camera's sliding cover scratches the camera lens with every slide.
after a few days the handsets develop a rattle-ing noise.
a good 20% of the handsets have a bad signal.
and my first handset had battery problems, the phone wouldnt last 6 hours with no use, my replacement however is much better, but i will be getting it exchanged soon because the camera is yet again.. ruined.

Great phone- looks good and touch screen makes easy to navigate.
Rotates as you use.
Big screen is great for watching films etc and memory capacity to store a good amount!
Customisable front screen can add contact icons and other menu functions of your choice
-
When unlocking keys backlight doesnt come on fully and so cannot see front screen properly! Sometimes have to flick switch 3 times to get front screen lit.
Email also not as user friendly as iphone or ipod touch. Can be slow to access and not easy to read.
Same with internet - good once set up but again not as user friendly as iphone

Battery runs out quickly when you are browsing, emailing, etc. But having spoken to friends with blackberry, N97 lasts longer.

Has loads of features. Good all round phone with everything on it - internet, music, camera, phone! It looks good and is fairly compact considering the design and features.
-
Battery life is way to low. The standby mode is good but as soon as you start using it the battery drains quickly.
The phone is fully loaded with features, a lot of which I will never use and seem pointless. The instruction manual is also a little lacking in detail.

Great looking phone, the maps software is great and it's nice that you can download lots of new apps (although they charge for some which SHOULD be free) The touch screen is very easy to use and the entire phone is configurable to how you want it from layout of apps to theme design.
-
The simple task of answering a call which what a phone is primarily for is very difficult until explained elsewhere (it's not mentioned in the manual) from what the manual says you have to unlock the phone by using the switch on the side of the phone and then click on the answer button before the person calling you hangs up. From reading on other websites you can use the touch screen to answer by sliding your finger across to the right (not explained anywhere in the manuals). Still some software problems with apps crashing or web services like "My Web" which is provided by vodafone not working for their own branded phone. Would I reccommend buying this phone, yes, would I like to moan at vodafones managers for releasing an incomplete badly programmed phone (which they are working on apparently) extremely so.

bad points was trying to set up an email with the fone and it would,nt get any access so i left that off and the battery life is ok depends on how you use your mobile and how often i,d say it has a better battery life than the n96 and the lg renoir thats all the bad points about the n97

-
Battery life isn't too good when using any application for longer then 20 mins, camera shutter collects bits which can scratch the lens if not wiped away, gets hot quite quickly when browsing the internet. Sat nav signal is quite poor.

Liked the camera and the FM radio. Browser OK. Text very good with the mini keyboard (Reason I got the 'phone).

Difficult to use the "contacts" list, seems to need several presses to get a call working, you appear to have done it, but it is always one more screen touch. Definitely a bad point, as despite all else, this is a 'phone. In fact, the phone is probably too complex for me, I struggle every time I use it.

i really like the phone and most of its features , the map and gps features are very good, having used them when i got lost once very recently
the userinterface is solid and fairly easy to use and with plenty of memory there is a lot you can store on the phone.
-
if i had any gripes with the phone it would be that the touch screen is a little too wild at times with a relatively small movement of the finger it can sometimes send you hurtling across maps or web pages far too fast , and the calibration of the unit is a little fiddly , the only other thing i would like is a little more free content for the profiles , there is only a limited range of themes to choose from on the handset and none of them are not very nice , most other ones i've seen on websites cost money and i think that if your going to purchase the handset , or pay for it over your 12 or 18 month contract then a couple more themes would be nice.

I was never a fast text creator but with the small keyboard style keypad it's a lot quicker. Memory size means I am now able to consolidate all my music etc on my phone. I use the GPS for hiking with the purchase of software for OS maps. The street maps were useful on holiday in France for finding location of petrol stations etc. and allowed us to wander round town centres without worry.
-
Took me a little time to get used to the touch screen (but this is probably just me).
Think there are too many applications pre installed. I am always suspicious of this and afraid that I may end up paying for something that I did not want.

Easy to use and very stylish!!! Screen is a perfect size! The speed of the phone is quick and is when accessing the internet as well. If you don't like the touch screen for texting you also have the querty keyboard which i love!!! Camera is of good quality & so is the video recording!! The volume on the phone from ringtones to loudspeaker is brilliant. Im still finding things out even now & i have had this phone for around 2 months, simply because i hate reading the manual you get with it. Overall outstanding phone!!! I first wanted the Iphone but I am so glad i got the N97 instead, it has everything the IPhone has!!!!
-
There really isnt many if im honest, i sometimes get annoyed with the touch screen when im texting people, but this isnt a real problem as i just use the querty keypad so not a real issue. The battery life isnt too bad but could be better. That's really it!!! I'd advise anybody to get this phone!!

The Nokia N97, has a 3.5″ touchscreen, 5MP camera (with Carl Zeiss Tessar lens) and flash, a huge 32GB of storage with an extra 16GB via the Micro SD slot, GPS with built-in compass and WiFi.
And if you get fed up of having to keep charging up your phone, the N97 has 400 hours of standby time! Along with 37 hours of music and 4.5 hours of video playback.
There's also a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, fully customisable home screen, Symbian S60 software, N-Gage games and all the syncing you expect from Nokia.
Look out for the Nokia N97 in March.
