Nero 9 utilities software

+ Does exactly the same as Nero 6. Not really a plus, but Nero 6 was good at what it does so it's the only nice thing I can think to say about this product.

- Massively over-bloated!
Does not do any more than Nero 6 yet takes up over 4 times as much disk space
Each application takes an eternity to load - and my PC is not slow!
Cannot outpot Divx AVIs with MP3 audio tracks (confirmed by Ahead support team). Sadly this is something that freeware products like Super(TM) can do and yet this product can't. Astonishing.
Update process is not fully automated/integrated - it just opens a web page where you can download updates which need to be manually installed. This is inexcusable and unacceptable in this day and age. Even freeware products are capable of self-updating without the user having to manually run the installers!

+ quite simple to install

- it is very difficult for me to fathom out how to use it, previous versions of nero were in my opinion simpler to use

+ easy to use, burns well plent to play with and does not play up with other programs.

- needs more tools on editing movie and pictures like being able to change the coulor after capture and being able to change sound up and down when adding music to a video and voice over in the time line.

+ Does, eventually, seem to do what I want from it - the creation of a photo slide show which can be played through a dvd player and a living room TV.

- Instructions have to be downloaded. Not at all easy to transfer photos from computer files to Nero for editing and creation of slide show.

+ The program caters for the majority of recent developements, for video and photo combinations of recordings, for personal and community broadcasting, especially for internet communication of picture displays.

- For the first time user, there is lots of written information on this product, but the difficulty lies in the understanding of how certain fetures operate, and the vast amount of terms mentioned of different terminologies and abreiviation used and mentioned.
Companies write information in legal format, and not in descriptive terms, mostly because it would require ten times more paperwork, where as a video display is like standing behind the person carrying out the operation.
What is needed is a video tutor, showing in slow motion examples of the various processes, whereby I as the student can grasp the facts visually, on acheiving a sucsessful outcome of a combination of various formats of photo's and video's in one continuous output form for display.

+ VERY EASY TO SET UP DESPITE DISABILITES, VERY GOOD WITH VISTA MAINLY THE SAME POINTS THAT I HAVE FOUND UP TO NOW ARE THE SAME AS NERO 8

- WHEN USING IT ON VISTA HAVEN'T UP- TO NOW FOUND ANY PROBLEMS TOUCH WOOD

+ Easy to use all Nero Products are.

- Can't find anyu faults or bad points with this product.

- there are some programs that use nero7 as thier burning software but cannot use nero9 for some reason bad news as you need to have 7 & 9 loaded Why???????????????

+ Thanks to Nero we always have a fabulous record of some brilliant holidays. I am sure that the new features included in this Nero 9 will only serve to enhance my DVD's even more.

for someone like myself, not to good on the pc it is fairly easy to set up, there are still bits that i am still learning about, trial and error but its coming along.

- can be a bit slow at times in changing from one ac tion to another
