Next direction is shown at the top of the screen - gives plenty of time to get into right lane etc.
Speed camera alerts are excellent
Easy to use and programme
-
Not always clear on exact direction - some common sense required! Following the directions to the letter could sometimes lead you up a dirt track etc
Re-routing programme doesn't come as standard - you need to download it from the website. Without this option it's hard to sort out an alternative route should the motorway be closed for example.
Not up to date on "no right/left turn" - will direct you where you're not allowed to go.
Bluetooth option is not compatible with my phone - should be a list of compatible phones available when purchasing
On the preferences menu for route options, there could be more options, like use only A roads etc

When I was deciding what to buy, I looked through all the models on the market and for it's price, this was the best. It has free traffic included in the price and comes complete with a database of speed cameras, although you have to pay for that if you want it upgraded. It also has European maps, which are useful.
It was easy to use from the box and is quick to gain a signal. Its size is a major bonus as it fits easily into a pocket or hand-bag when you get out of the car. The sucker attachment works well, with no marks left on the screen, but if your car suffers from condensation, you may need to wipe the screen before you get out otherwise the round mark can show up.
Maps (so far) seem very accurate and if you take an alternative route it re-plans the route within about 5-10 seconds, so no need to panic. The warnings are given early and then just before you need to turn, which seems ideal. Estimated Time to Arrival is accurate and constantly updated.
I love the Nav Pix feature - where you can navigate back to a spot where you have taken a photo (camera included in this model), as I very rarely know people's postcodes. It is also possible to download photos from the Navman website picture library which means that you can navigate to those places too.
It can also be used as a hands-free kit for your phone, which is worth having. I haven't used this yet, but have been assured by people that the sound-quality is good.
Overall it's an excellent model. I'm sure I will find some issues with it over time, but at the moment I am extremely happy with my purchase. Definitely worth paying the extra and buying this top-of-the-range model, as the other models in the range are lacking the Nav Pix camera, European maps etc.
-
To be honest, there is not a lot wrong with this Sat Nav. My main niggle would be that it is not compatible with my phone (which I am due to change soon, so not a worry). If you are looking for something with different voices and things like guide-books etc., don't pick a Navman! It is built to get you from A to B quickly and efficiently. Don't get me wrong - it does have gadgets, but they are all useful, such as a mileage counter, petrol records, Nav Pix camera etc.
It does not come with a mains charger, so you do need to buy one, but I bought an excellent one from e-bay for a few pounds. Ditto with screen protectors, which are worth having.

This product is by far the best sat nav system that Navman have produced. It is outstandingly clear, concise and definately worth the money.
It is one of the first BUT BEST sat navs to have included a clear and concise working in-built bluetooth set, so finally emergency calls on the road can be answered safely along with Navman's ease of use.
Also combining a 2.0 mp camera for you to personally include in your very own P.O.I in the Nav Pix section, which is a unique, clever and a extra handy feature that really does work at all times, without any fuss.
The sat nav itself includes everything else that a standard sat nav should and ought to have, real life traffic info, real life speed camera monitors, route summary and planner, map of UK and Europe. And if that wasn't enough; it even includes extra handy features like Intelligent day/night display, and well I can go on and on. BUT the GREAT thing is that it ALL WORKS without ANY PROBLEMS OR DIFFICULTIES! It truely has wiped out TOMTOMS and Garmins, even Sony and actually does deserve and comply with it's given statement of "The S90i is one of the most innovative and intelligently designed in car navigation systems in the world."
-
The only bad points as with everything is that you can't plan routes from other locations to next locations, it has to be formulated from the area that you are stationary in at the time. It does not come with a case and a home charger but it does include a in-car charger which I thought would be the opposite. It really does have a big widescreen really good for viewing but not when you don't want the product itself to be big. The speed camera alerts should flash or have a man or woman saying out aloud something like "WARNING SPEED CAMERA AHEAD." However, these are just minor disadvanteages as nothing can be perfect but would be great for Navman to brush up on these minor points for their next advanced model, come on Navman your almost perfect! Overall, I am very satisfied with the product no regrets!

Extremely user friendly. We felt the value was excellent and it has already paid for itself because every time we travel, which is often, we seek hire cars that have a navigation system available and you inevitably pay extra money for the feature. The time efficiency of navman vs. using an actual map is brilliant. The clarity of the directions has been superb. The ability to cross reference addresses and post codes makes accuracy inevitable. The convenience of bank locations and petrol stations is also a major plus. We are most impressed and would definitely recommend navman s901 eur gps to anybody in the market for a system. It has been a small investment that will continue to benefit us in motor travel.
-
We have only had approximately three "negative" experiences out of several usages - all whilst on an actual motorway - where the navman is inaccurate either with speed limit for the area or the basic interpretation of where you physically are at the moment - we believe this could be attributed to the fact that there has been a new construction of road and the signals could be conflicting. It has never posed a problem because it occurs whilst on a busy motorway and you already know exactly where you are in location. I am certain there is a logical explanation for this minor inconsistency and perhaps we will query it with the company but we are truly not that bothered as we are very happy with the product.

This Satnav is very easy to use. The verbal instructions are clear and give you plenty of notice before a turn etc. My wife uses the unit on her motorbike and doesnt even need to look at the screen!
When I use it in the car the maps are very clear and features like the built in camera, where fuel stops are and speed camera alerts are great. I was a 'satnav sceptic' but this unit is first class and I am now converted - it takes all of the stress out of going somewhere new in the car.
If you are a sceptic like I was, buy one and be surprised just how good it is.
-
The in-car power supply has to slot into the satnav cradle on the windscreen, which means that you either have to leave it in place all of the time (which is unslightly) or fiddle about to attach it to the cradle then pull it back out when you've finished. Other than that, nothing.

As said above, its so easy to use, that even a novice like myself can work out what to do. The screen size is pretty impressive by comparison to other models I have looked at and is great for being able to see exactly where I am and where I am heading for.
-
It seems to have a habit of sending me along some very peculiar and little used routes, which I would not have chosen myself. I cant understand why it doesnt direct me along the main A roads which in my view would be quicker and easier, even if the route it directs me along is actually shorter in distance. It can also be annoying when I have to follow a diversion as it keeps trying to get me to turn around and on one occasion carried on demanding I do this for several miles! I still think this is a great model though and wouldnt change it despite these little foibles.

Good screen, auto zoom, handy information such as time / distance remaining readily available, quick re-routing. Spoken instructions very informative, made even better with spoken street names - a real bonus (and sometimes quite amusing pronounciation!)
-
Seems to take a long time to charge - no mains charger included (but usb mains chargers available cheaply on the web).
Bluetooth connection for the hands-free phone is very picky on the type of phone you have (look at the Navman website for compatible devices, and if yours isn't there, assume it won't work)
If you're an infrequent user, you need to turn the unit off completely by holding down the power button for about 10 secs, otherwise it goes into a sort of standby mode and will gradually drain the battery; the downside of fully switching off is that the software will need to load when you turn it back on, so it takes more time (and it loses your bluetooth phone connection).

Maps loaded are out of date and I didn't have time to download ( or even work out how to) before i went away. Instruction voice is irratating. I can see why tom tom have brought a a voices package. Maybe should have gone for that model

The pictures are great for my work. Lots of maps and the user interface is helpful and well laid out. Linking with mobile is also good.

About 100 yards out on update - hasn't caused me any problems yet, to be fair.

Certainly a good product and picks up routes exceptionally well. Just done a very long journey and the route followed was excellent for speed/distance travelled.
-
Screen difficult to see in bright sunlight. Insists on recommeding rather unsuitable roads (very narrow and unsuitable for large cars) from my home to that of my son. Doesn't like us taking a preferred route and advises we do a U turn asap!!

Extremely user friendly, Very well designed displays with driver information easily accessed when driving without being dangerous (one button press). Sound is excellent. Photo sustem work extremely well and if very accurate. Viewing screen graphics are very good and especially when compared with other makes. Nabman have taken on board the problems with previous systems and have mastered the end product.

Cannot (or don't know how to) delete some of the country maps
Would like to be able to disable maps of countries I will never see - thereby speeding up start up etc
Can only set alert for one speed at any one time (some other brands warn on excess of all speed limits)

Short battery life, difficult to read in bright sunlight, can be slightly confusing at traffic roundabouts, need to take instruction very literally. User instructions could be more clearer.

having to take it on and off the screen and hide it---not its fault! The traffic information signal can be rather hit & miss --sometimes one receives it other times nothing.

Excellent value for money. The S90i has good, clear maps and give clear directions. There is a built in TMC unit and a camera which is a useful extra feature.
-
It doesn't give your speed as you are travelling, and the car charger lead is only designed to fit if the unit is positioned in a particular way (which is only the case in certain cars). I have had to purchase an additional lead to get round this. No mains charger is included, but this can be purchased separately.

Good camera, easy to use, European maps included and Worldwide maps available from the Navman site (discount if you register your product). Quite a few potential colured display settings and also gives local points of interest, like garages, eateries etc. Nice size and super screen, would recommend.
-
Cannot do much with it in the house unless standing by a suitable window, which can be awkward if planning a trip. Would have preferred worldwide maps to be included and paid a bit extra.
