+ The spec involved-its quad band, can utilise a memory card,can access e-mails, is easy to set-up,can synchronise with windows media player 11 and downloading music from your computer is a doddle.

- Its primarily targeted at women but I feel its such a good phone that men can get away with the purple one.
Battery life is so-so-about 5 days or so if not using it much-better than some though.

+ It is a great size and really easy to use. I love the colour and the case it came with was really pretty. As you can tell I am very girly so this was the ideal phone for me.

- The predictive text was one of the weirdest I have ever used and it has taken me a while to get used to it.

+ Nice to look at.

- Very slow response to commands. Not user friendly. Ring tones and sounds are strange sounding.

+ What a sexy looking phone, lots of admiring glances from other people. Everyone loves the display of lights while the phone is closed. I love the music player, i added a 4gb memory card.

- the keypad is driving me mad even after almost 2 months of using it. I cant send a text easily, my fingers just dont fit! Im irritated that i cannot lock the internet access, i always seem to be online, but never want to be. There is a lag everytime you press a key, frankly too much of a lag to be acceptable.

+ Clamshell construction means that its compact and that the keys cannot be inadvertently activated. Very stylish. A good camera and with a memory card added its capacity is increased tremendously. No external aerial to compromise the shape.

- The external soft keys are a nuisance: all too easily pressed accidentally. Camera could be excellent with higher resolution. Packaged items are disappointing: no software, car charger, USB lead etc. - all of which need to be purchased additionally. Even if it is "synced" to a PC via a bluetooth connection, it is not possible to do much without the software.

- Not able to download some games because it's a "new device". E-mailing difficult to set up. Battery life shor when using games.

+ It looks really great, with it's external screen. I fell in love with it, with it just being purple (girlie I know). All the features are good, especially Music and Organiser.

- Takes a while to get used to texting, as it's not standard. Battery life isn't that great and you can not use the mobile to do anything when it is charging. Camera/video is nothing to shout about. Could have included the USB lead needed to download music.

+ Stylish and cool. Love the flip top action and the groovy graphics on the outside!

- The keys are quite hard to single out from each other and you need to get used to pressing in the right places!

+ The U9 looks good and the advertising made it look very appealing. The reality is disappointing.

- The music controls on the outside of the shell are slow. In fact the phone in general was very slow to react, especially to any music related task. The phone is fiddly in general to use - you need to make more key presses than most of the other phones on the market in the same performance field to get anything to happen.

+ Its a nice looking phone and is easy to use, I like the fact you can check if you have any texts or calls without lifting the lid which is handy. Overall I do like the phone

- Takes a bit of getting used to the touch keypad find it too easy to press the wrong buttons and the battery can run down a bit quickly.

+ Lovely coloured phone. I love the flame screen when the phone is closed. I like that you don't have to open the phone to switch it to silent mode. The picture quality is great.

- The only bit I don't like are the buttons on the side - if I sit down with the phone in my pocket it beeps at me.

- It has to be the battery power.I've had to purchase a second charger to keep in work because i'm afraid the power will die.

- No cable to download the music, due to Motorola being unique in the connection it is also difficult to get a cable on the high street to fit.

+ I bought this phone for my girlfriend's birthday and she absolutely loves it! It looks great and it has an impressive music player.

- Without a micro SD card there isn't enough memory to have more than a few songs on it - I managed to get a 2GB card for about £10 which solved the problem.

+ It looks good. I like the touch screen, and the screensaver when you close the phone. I also like the quick reply facility to text messages via the touch screen - very impressive.

- Texting is hard work - maybe its just the Motorola system I don't like!

+ I love the outside of the phone the way the display shines through and i can read my texts from there! Also texting is easy, i like the way it brings up whole sentences for you that you've written before.

- My only small criticism is the keys are a bit hard for me to use precisely as my fingers are clumsy - i'm getting used to it but if they'd been more pronounced it'd be perfect for me.

+ Small and compact, with a new delete key handy in txting that wasn't on a previous motorola phone that I had.

- Not a great screen and the camera needs a lot of light to take any kind of decent picture.

- The response time is very slow to each command. Also the ring tones despite being turned to their highest volume still remain very quiet and difficult to hear when the phone is not close at hand.
