Miele W3740 reviews: Front Loading loading, 6kg capacity washing machine

+ A heavy, classy, quality machine. It's not trendy or flashy, just a well built device to get your laundry clean. All this and a 10 year manufacturers warranty at time of purchase. A choice for the discerning buyer.

- You could buy three lesser branded machines for the price of this one. Let's just hope it lasts a long time!

+ Ease of use and very good programs. Excellent wash.

+ This washing machine is idiot proof and does all the thinking for you. My previous one was an Asko which gave far more individual choice in terms of temperature and spin speed and duration. Overall I would say that this is a first-rate machine with few down-sides.

- It does not have a short spin and long spin facility.
One the programme has started it will not let you open it to put in the odd sock the dog just pinched.

+ it is better than many other washing machines my friends and relatives have bought. They say so, not I!

- 1. Water gathers around the inner rubber, we have to mope it up and wipe it clean after every use.
2. No spin only facility exists.
3. Expensive.

+ Very quiet, dial not too complicated, not overloaded with too many programmes. Wool wash very impressive.

It's very sturdy and quiet and doesn't move around the kitchen like my last one did. I'm more than pleased with spending that little extra!

+ A good sturdy machine with some fantastic wash cycles on it. I can honestly say that I have never enjoyed washing so much and the clothes seem cleaner too! I am glad to say you really do get what you pay for - this proves the point!

- I would say that although the washing machine is quiet, I did expect it to be even more quiet - only a slight fault though!

+ I wanted a machine that would wash my cashmere sweaters. This one has proved to be better than hand wash.

+ It's very easy to use and it's very quiet. It was also one of the Miele's that had a 1400 rpm setting. It's very quiet and it's very good on energy/water saving.

- Drum not massive so ideal for myself and husband but a large family would need a larger capacity

+ Gets clothes indcredibly clean even at low temperatures, and rinses particularly well. Door opens completely so doesn't get in the way when unloading. Very strong steel door (my last, cheaper, one had the usual weaker door and was broken off at the hinge by a toddler leaning on it). Very clear instruction book. Can open the door at certain points of cycle so can add in the items you forget at last minute. Child lock. Handwash options very good.

- Doesn't seem to offer a rinse and spin only (for when things have been handwashed (although there is a handwash option on the programmes).
