LIke the accessories & how they are stored in the machine. LIke the POWER - very good & like the way you can press a button & the power cable goes into the machine. Very light to carry/move.

Would like it if sucker tube could be reduced in size for storage & cleaning stairs etc.

I have already owned and used 2 Miele vacuum cleaners, which were more expensive, but substantially better. In comparison this one is very basic and not as appealing!! The more expensive models operated much more smoothly, did not take up as much storage space and were a nicer colour.

I was amazed at how good the suction was - and then I realised I only had it set on minimum. Wouldn't use any other brand. Easy to use, lightweight, compact and does a great job.

Storage can be a bit tricky.

It is quiet, easy to manoeuvre and powerful. The tools are well designed and fit nicely into the lid. Overall, it is a vast improvement on the Hoover I had.

The only thing I would say, is that the dust collection bags are a little on the small side and expensive to buy.

I've worked with a whole range of Miele vacuum cleaners and I've been recommending them for years to everyone. Although this model has a lower power than their other ones it doesn't make any difference at the end of the day as you'll never have to use it on full power. It is so efficient and strong turned halfway down as other, more expensive hoovers on full power. It's extremely quiet, too. The cable length is perfect. Although it doesn't come with the rotating head that's so useful on carpets, you can always order it separately if you really need to. Although this product is at the bottom of their range, no compromise has been made on quality. It is excellent value for money. You'll never find a more reliable vacuum cleaner on the market.

The only 3 relatively negative points I can bring up is that it doesn't have the telescopic tube that makes the other Miele models so easy to store, and that just like the other models, it is bagged, but these shouldn't put anyone off. The colour is awful, but one has to make compromises sometimes.

It is one and only hoover that does what is says "on the label"! I mean it sucks properly and you actually see the job done after one glide through the carpet.

Could be a bit slimer and lighter but this is not a major issue. Also as this is an old model could be a bit cheaper as at the end of the day is a heap of plastic. I would also extend a cable for a meter or so but this length is not so bad.

Simple design, intuitive to operate and to switch tools, quiet, and good cleaning. A great all-rounder.

The only negative point is a design issue: the tube comes out of the cleaner at 45 degrees rather than horizontally which can make it difficult to pull it around and steer it as you end up lifting it instead.

A bit clunky to move it around.

I've had a few vacums including dyson in the past but this has to be the best one. You have to turn the suction down because it's so strong that it pulls the carpet off the floor. It's ideal for both floorboards and carpets.

design could have been better.

lovely design and colour. decent size. simple - not too fancy, yet i have complete confidence my carpets are getting a proper clean. it is a pretty powerful machine. did loads of research (including which? - altho this is basic compared to other vacumns, it overall came out tops on many points. I have to agree.

a little on the heavy side. its not adjustable - so the metal rod doesn't slide into itself for storage. its a little hard to manouver.

my only grumble with this product is the metal tube is not retractable it comes in two pieces, if it was retractable it would make storage easier.

The Miele S380 is very quiet and cleans very thoroughly. It is particularly good on wooden floors.

It sometimes feels a bit bulky.

Performance / Price is unbelievable.

So far so good.
