+ It is plain,functional and capacious. the baskets fit well and it is easy to fill and organise. it is also very quiet, which is good.

+ Never been disappointed with Miele products. Very pleased with the A++ energy rating. Like the warning when it's been open for a minute.

- It is rather large but that is because it is so well insulated.

+ Can keep informed of the temperature inside freezer and adjust easily if required. 4 hanging storage baskets are very useful.

+ This is, as you'd expect from Miele, a well designed and solidly built product. Unlike our old freezer, which had flimsy plastic feet, an ill-fitting lid and very little in the way of controls, the Miele appears to have a metal frame, and the lid closes with a satisfying 'thunk' and seals itself so tight that it takes some effort to lift it again. The manual is comprehensive and well-written, and the digital controls are easy to use: you simply set the freezer to any temperature you like within its range, and the digital display gives a constant reading of its actual temperature. Defrosting should be easy - a central drain leads to an outlet at the front of the freezer, so it's just a question of putting a receptacle underneath it to catch the water - no struggling to reach the bottom with a sponge. Most importantly of all, the freezer is extremely well insulated, and with electricity prices rising at the speed they are that's a real plus (not to mention the environmental benefits of an AA+ energy rating).

- It's not really a bad point, but the slight downside to all that energy efficiency is that the freezer is quite big for its capacity, simply because of the thicker insulation. That's not a problem for us, since we keep it in the garage, but don't forget to look at the external measurements rather than just the capacity when buying. If your old freezer has the same capacity and only just fits the space, this one is likely to be too big.

+ Excellent energy efficiency - less than half a unit a day, a tenth of what my old freezer of similar size was using. You'll need more capital in the first place, but will be saving money in the long run. You'll also need space for it - it has extra-thick walls for higher insulation. Those might be considered bad points, but I see them as necessary to achieve the high efficiency.
I also think it's an attractive design, nicely curved at the edges, and the temperature display is reassuring.

- None other than the initial cost and the extra outer size compared with its inner capacity - but if you want energy efficiency these are small considerations.

+ excellent all rounder has locking tempreture control and kiddie lock would recommend to anyone. not the cheapest but pay that little bit more for quality

+ A++ energy rating. Good looking appliance, locks, Quiet, adjustable temperature, fast freeze. The old baskets from my upright fit it it so I can arrange the storage to suit my needs!

- I should like it to come with some large baskets, although the smaller ones are useful as well. Cant fault it as yet.

+ Extremely low energy consumption, Quality of build, Ease of use and perfomance. (Reached -18C in just over an hour! ) Has an extremely quiet compressor. Very well styled exterior and controls.

- Reduced capacity due to additional insulation. my old freezer had 3 CU FT more capacity for the same exterior size but probably used 4 times as much electricity!

+ Very easy to use and so far reliable, but I've only had it a month.
Does everything it says on the box!

+ Does what is promised - many useful programmes.

- Lots of fillters to maintain - a fair amount of fluff is left on the clothes and in the drum in comparison with conventional dryers.

+ Solid and well built; I like the alarm system which beeps if you keep the lid up too long. Haven't had it long enough to know about running costs, but am very pleased with my purchase so far.

- Quite large - we have it in a garage so that is ok for us, but might swamp a kitchen area

+ Very quiet. Economical on electricity. Good clear manual. Easy to arrange and access food - baskets can be hung or stacked. Separate compartment for quick freezing. It even looks and feels nice.

- Haven't found any bad points. I haven't defrosted yet but don't forsee any dificulties.

+ Just an excellent freezer
