+ Very happy with it apart from the one comment below.

- We had to buy a complete new set of dinner plates as thay fouled the jet arm. Our previous dishwasher (Bosch) accomodated the old ones

+ Extremely quiet

- Wine glasses don't stand up in it very well. Seems less space than was expecting - doesn't seem to stack that well

+ Very quiet, very efficient, great product overall!

- It has a non standard waste pipe already fitted so cannot fit through small spaces.

- It is annoying that built in dishwashers are consistently priced higher than the stand alone models.
Furthermore when Miele offered a five year parts and labour gaurantee on that model No it was only offered on stand alone models, and built in models were excluded

- intallation can be a little trickey due to the big plastic box on the water inlet pipe.

+ Have had 3 previous dishwashers including a Hotpoint and Bosch. We have had the Meile for nearly 6 weeks now. We have a low to moderately hard water supply. 1) Build quality is excellent, better than any previously owned. 2) The Meile is really quiet though the specified dB figures would not lead you to expect this - had previously bought a Bosch Exxel partly for the noise rating but the Meile was surprisingly much less intrusive noise wise - no heavy buzzing, sloshing or filling noises found with our previous machines - its easy to forget that it's on. 3) Cleans and dries very well - better than any previously owned washer - though the door must remain closed until it cools down or the heat will be lost prematurely. We use separate salt as specified as well as cheap supermarket branded washer tablets with combined salt and rinse aid. We also found that using an additional Turbo Finish rinse aid product improved drying from being very good to being pretty much everything bone dry - the occasional mug with deeply indented base may still contain a little pool of water. 4) Internal space is well organised, allowing it to be loaded very efficiently - the cutlery tray is a surprisingly good feature in this regard and could be easily dismissed. I had seen it mentioned in reviews and consumer magazines for other Meile dishwashers but hadn't really thought it worthy of much consideration until I used it - it may not be the most important feature for a dishwasher but we appreciate it now that we have to use it all the time.

- 1) One only thing to be aware of is the Meile has an anti-leak device on the water supply hose - about 4 inches long by 1.5 deep just next to the connector (dont know how it's supposed to work - maybe it stops back-flow when disconnected). This caused us some minor fitting issues initially because it is inflexiblle. We have limited and awkward space under the sink and the hole coming through cabinet carcass into the sink was just big enough for a hose but not the device. 2) Not the cheapest washer on the market (but you do seem to get what you pay for and the free 5 yr promotional warranty we got was a mitigating factor for us) . The bosch we had previously - though cheaper - would not be called cheap either but in conrast we were dissapointed with the Bosch. 3) Not the prettiest washer you can find and this model is only available in white I think. Nevertheless, we got over this quite quickly given the fact that in the end we were pleased with its performance and considered it money well spent.

+ Cutlery drawer is really good. It takes longer to load but is much simpler to empty and very spacious. Really quiet machine - you hardly know that it is on. We can load more plates and bowls in this machine than our previous dishwasher and the clearning performance is better.

- Wash cycle takes a long time.

+ Excellent cleaning. Very quiet compared to our last dishwasher. Quick washing cycle perfectly adequate for most loads.

- Cutlery tray fiddly to load. Bottom basket rolls back into machine when loading. V annoying.

+ Cutlery tray, although a bit fiddly to load, leaves more space in the lower tray and is a joy to unload. Almost silent in operation. Free five-year warrantee (special offer at time of purchase). Very easy to operate.

- Some wash times are a bit long and drying is not brilliant. Seems heavy on the rinse aid, but this is adjustable. Buttons are a little flimsy.

+ Design, build quality, ergonomics and efficiency are faultless. A typical Miele then!

- Cycle time could be quicker, but no worse than the industry average, it seems.

+ It's a Miele. It will still be washing dishes (and washing them well) long after the pain of the purchase price is forgotten. My parents haven't had a single problem with their one in 17 years. Bombproof construction. Upper cutlery tray is genius.
