+ Very light, but with excellent suction on carpets.Lovely little machine!Very quiet too!

- Not so good on kitchen floor, but still picks up the necessary, so not too much of a problem,however if you have laminate flooring throughout, maybe not the machine for you.

+ Turbo brush does a wonderful job of removing dog hairs on carpets, and the small turbo is equally as good on furniture and stairs as well. The power adjustment makes the cleaner very versitile for all applications. I recommend.

- The s.steel telescopic tubes (which will never distort),when attached to a cleaning head, becomes rather heavy & maybe not very suitable for everyone. Electrical cord could do to be another 1 metre in length.

+ Great for picking up dirt, hair, etc - brought a manky carpet up like new. On board tools storage case is a bit flimsy. Doubt it will stand the test of time. Also, hair gets entangled in the rollers and must be cut free which is a nuisance. Overall though - really pleased with it.

- Bags expensive and cord could be longer but nothing bad really - this is a good cleaner. It would be nice to have the on/off controls on the hose rather than on the body but I don't think any cylinder cleaners do that yet.

+ Does a superb job of hoovering, even better at picking up dog hair than expected. Easy to manoeuvre, the telescopic pole is great and very quick to adjust. The fittings supplied mean this is perfect for homes with a variety of surfaces. I am especially delighted with the performance of the large and small turbo brushes on my heavy traffic areas; my previous vacuum didn't come near the standard of cleaning offered by the Miele Cat and Dog. The power of this vacuum means that hoovering is so much quicker. The main attachment is suitable for hard and carpeted floors and cleans both wood, lino and carpeted floors with ease and speed. Head attachments are stowed away in the body of the hoover. At first I was sceptical of returning to a bagged vacuum but the pick up power is so much better than previous expensive bagless models by other brands.

+ Suction excellent and pick up power as well, especially for pet hairs. Quite expensive but worth it as all the other cheaper machines I have used over the years have worked well for a couple of times and then been useless.

+ Brilliant hoover, best we've ever had for picking up pet hairs. Black Lab + cream carpet = lots of hairs showing, this hoover picks them all up with little effort required by the user. We got 3 different 'heads' with the hoover, the Cat & Dog one is the one we mainly use, although the other 2 are equally as good. Easy to change the bag, tools are within a compartment on top of the hoover and easy to get to and it's not as heavy as some of the uprights that we've had. I would highly recommend this hoover to anyone who has a pet.

+ It's quiet in operation. It's well made and looks good. It has a good range of tools for total cleaning on all surfaces and in cramped areas eg dressing rooms and ensuite bathrooms.

- Like all cylinder cleaners it's awkward to move about. That said, one gets used to it. I wouldn't dispense with my upright though; the two complement each other.

+ I really wanted to invest in a good vaccum cleaner. I had used 3 different dysons (borrowed from friends) and though they were expensive i wasnt really happy with them with regards to cleaning. So after a detailed study of reviews i went for the Miele- and boy was i impressed. It is the the king of vaccum cleaners! Beats dyson hands down. The suction power is amazing..be it be dirt, dust or hair. I am most happy with my purchase and will highly recommend it to anyone. Never thought i would say this but it has made vacuuming fun!

I am not much of a vac tools user so can't say much on that. I prefer to have the few good quality basics and leave the fancy bits to the cheaper makes. I believe in buying the best i can afford as in the long run it pays to even if i have to save up to pay for it.

- cost of bags. God I need to take out a mortgage, not having two pence to count to my name.
The lower end tube that joins in to the brush head is very stiff to pull out, painfully more so as i have arthitic hands. Would love to have longer cord. I am also hoping the plastic bits last longer then they did on my old Cand D. That is the achilies heel you need to concentrate on now. My old machine was still running fine, but so many bits broken off, like lid twanging up all the time and bad catch not lasting, tube join at top cracked.and lots more that made it not worth while replacing even thought only about 6-7 years old just in case the engine went then.

+ More suck than a category 4 tornado! Ok its really very good at what it says it will do. Lightweight and easy to manouvere. Tools are easily accessible and power and cable rewind are foot controles. On full power this lifts pet hair from carpets that I used to have to hand brush because other vacume cleaners wouldnt shift it.

- Build quality is a bit light. The door catch where the tools are kept could break if your not carefull. The fixing for the hose on the vacume I think could have been more robust. When you change the waste bag be careful or you will get a face full of dust.

+ The cat and dog attachment really does give amazing suction and the carpets look great afterwards. We have two big long haired dogs and its been great.

- The indicator sometimes shows the bag being fulll when its not.

+ I have used a Meile for the last 15 years, including for many lots of building dust while renovating various houses, and was extremely happy with it. So when the motor started to sound a little strained I bought myself a new one (cat & dog) and that one is also working beautifully.

+ wonderful european technology. after 6 months is working aswell as the day we bought it.

- replacement bags are a little pricey but worth it, tried some non genuine stuff and was a false economy.

Easy to change heads and some carried in cleaner so no need to go and fetch them if you suddenly find a problem

+ Excellent performance, especially on bedroom carpets where the Miele S5260 Cat and Dog has no problem picking up fluff from bed linen which is troden into the carpet. The additional attachment heads for hard floors and stairs work extremely well, both of which are supplied with the cleaner.

- As far as I am concerned there are no bad points

- I have arthritis and I find dismantling the tubes after use is very difficult.
