Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium

+ Setting up was a lot quicker than XP Pro.
Er, that's it......

- Incompatable with a lot of peripherals, so they need to be replaced.
A lot of softwear on DVDs will not load.
The softwear runs a lot slower than XP Pro on the same machine.
Commonly used features are harder to find than XP Pro.

+ New features are great

- My web cam is will never be vista compliant forcing me to buy another! Several drivers are still unavailable or been made by third parties. Should be ok in 6 months!

+ Ease of use and robust!

- A bit pedantic at times, but for my own good I suppose!

+ It's much easier to use than previous Windows

- Some of the security are hard/impossible to configure to persal preferences

+ nothing xp hasn't got only a bit shinier

- takes to many resorces 2 x sli is a nightmare to set up to much security for a home user. no anti virus, might be worth considering getting it as long as you dont mind waiting 2years fo everything to run right.

+ I installed this product on my hard drive which I was upgrading from XP unfortunately my hard drive was corrupt with the old XP so I decided to install on a New Drive WOW what a difference and running like a Rolls Royce

+ If you are a PC User (Windows) then you have little other choice and it is the best that Microsoft has to offer.
It's starting to look a bit like an Apple programme but get under the skin a little and inside there still beats an MS-DOS heart, I suspect!

- I own Macs and it doesn't compare to MacOS X (I currently use 10.5 - Leopard). It is still typically Micosoft and cumbersome and, in my opinion, a poor copy of the Mac operating system - but really quite expensive nonetheless.
It also runs poorly on a Mac, even though there is supposed to be compatibility. This was a generous attempt by Apple that doesn't seem to have worked out. If I didn't want to run Windows only software (eg Statistic packages and games) then there is no way I would bother with any Windows OS. Nothing is making me regret moving away from Windows PCs some years ago.

- Some older bits of hardware may not be compatible.

+ Easy set up, found most drivers without need for discs, more user friendly than XP (in my opinion)

- Windows mail has issues with deleting some items, some programme compatibility issues that have since been resolved

- Continual warings when installin new programs

- Buggy, Lack of support, No more secure then XP, Security messages with every action are very annoying.

- Runs like a dog, no drivers.

- The majority of my software and hardware would not work with it and I had to REMOVE it.

- compatbility with programs/drivers - had to replace all my soundcard/printers/phone drivers etc. New versions of software has to be downloaded for everything - quite time consuming

- I haven't been able to set this up I have an Apple Mac, the Help from Microsoft was hopeless

+ O/S works well no problems with it, trouble finding things due to new setup. I.E uninstall programs, run command etc.

- Industry still catching up with 64. Viewing images and photos in windows explorer was better setup in XP, no outlook express.

- It took awhile to get used to working with Vista upgrade as I had to do a lot of reinstalling of certain programmes. I now wish I had bought the full version instead of the upgrade

+ Easy to load, can be used as a New Operating System on a Blank Hard Drive or as an upgrde to an Existing System, easy step by step setup with minimal input, end result is an easier to use system than previous systems with advanced security facilities.

- None as long as you have the right hardware, I would reccommend 2 Gb. of memory to run effortlessly.

+ Compared to XP that I used to have this is more resource hungry, but seems ok with 1GB of Ram.

- Windows Vista and office 2007 are so different from Professional XP that it takes quite some time to get to grips with actioning simple functions

+ Overall a very good product. some of the features available on this version should have been available with other versions from the beginning.

- Although this product is designed fro OEMs in mind, the lack of ant support at all is disappointing. Even OEMs have trouble sometimes.

+ full licensed version, NOT an upgrade. Also comes with free upgrade to windows seven !! Easy to installl and left all my files intact. this contains bothe the windows 64 And 32 bit dvds .

- since getting vista laptop runs slower and screen keeps freezing. also had problems with security issues prefer XP
