LG 50PC56 Reviews: 50" Screen Plasma HD Ready TV

+ Looks very good, good sound, games look amazing, and blu-ray makes you feel like your in the cinema with 1080p input.

- image sticking does occur, but goes away after a bit, gets very very hot.

+ The television is great and for the money really cant be beat i don't think, it looks really good ,very moden design,with a good size remote which is quiet easy to navigate.
Overall for a large Plasma screen tv i Highly recommend this set ,it is at a very good price ,and ideal for people on a budget,very pleased indeed.

- The picture could be sharper but at the price cant really complain too much.
The lack of an on/off switch is sadly missed as it as to be taken from standby to off by turning the power off and i fear for serges that might be caused by doing this.
Navigation from tv to dvd is not that straight forward and can be a bit confusing.

- Factory settings are ridiculous - has to be set manually.
INstruction book is hopeless - no help with settings etc.
TV would have been better with Picture in Picture to check on sky whilst watching Freeview.

+ The screen quality is very good. Sharp clear and bright images and of course, no blur on fast moving objects or scenes. It has enough inputs to cover most home consoles and computers and the built in freeview is very easy to use and setup.

- I was told this model had a white screen to take out any temporary ghosting that may occur and It doesn't have that function. I'm still very nervous about putting up long term graphics on-screen (computer etc.) as you do get a ghosting effect in a relatively short time and this was 1 thing I was told had changed with the new gas in these models. I still have to get reliable information regarding this but I was advised to go plasma on any Tv bigger than 42".

+ The sound is very good and it is very easy to use.

- The bad points are that when using it to play the playstation 2 games you can still see some the game image when you have went back to watching tv again.

+ 50" Plasma at a very affordable price. LG are generally a good make. I have another 50" LG the 50PC1D which is a little older but I would rate it an overall 9 compared to the 6 I've given this one.

- I originally had my first one replaced due to screen retention from day one. Settings were placed very low but this didnt seem to make a difference. Any white text seemed to linger and could be seen from my settee. A replacement was sent out and exactly the same issues (just slightly better). This went back immediately and replaced by a Panasonic (Still yet to try this as I take delivery tomorrow)

- Not easy to get right colour and picture settings. Also brought the LG Home Cinema system and again instructions are very poor to set up to receive surround sound, so although have good looking TV, it doesn't do what I purchased it to do.

+ This product is excellent for movies, music, and terrestial TV. The whole package is superb, and I would definitely recommend to friends.

- The only bad point I have is that I am continually dusting the TV stand. It is high shine black and silver, and dust just loves it!!!!
