+ Very intuitive to set up and use particularly in our case connected to an LG HDD/DVD recorder. We opted for plasma over LCD as we have small kids with sticky fingers and though it may seem an odd reason to base a decision upon, we have been vindicated already as it is a very sleek and easily cleaned unit. Connecting up was a doddle too.
- Not blown away by picture quality but without another similar product to compare with in our living room it would be unfair to blame this on LG. We are without doubt sitting too close to a 42" TV and the picture is much better when sitting further away. Do bear this in mind when choosing your TV and for once listen to the sales person who will no doubt tell you to pick a smaller model (blokes eh). Also bear in mind that the TV you see in store is running on a demo mode that turns up colour and brightness dramatically. It won't look like that at home unless you wan't to pay a Las Vegas style electicity bill. Most of these points however are generic to big screen TVs and the LG is a cheap way to get a very smart and very capable 42" plasma which will not disapoint but don't expect miracles.

+ Smooth glass fronted design. The ability to plug a portable USB Hard Drive into the side and play DivX movies without connecting a PC to it. Overall this is a fantastic product and I'm really pleased I ignored the LCD hype and bought a plasma instead.
- Shiny glass front shows the kids fingerprints a bit too easily.

- excellent menu system.
- very easy to use and set up.
- has an proffessional picture option (for people who want to tweak picture settings to get the best picture).
- clear voice mode to make the voices louder than the background noise (which a lot of films and tv programmes suffer from).
- plenty of inputs (3 hdmi, pc, components, scarts. ect).
- usb so you can play video files from the internet straight on your tv (divx, avi) and mp3's and pictures.
- can display 1080p 24p
-
- basic looking remote control.
- sound is not very bass intensive.
- not a big problem but you do get some screen burn issues especially in the first 200 hours of the sets life( like the bbc's " press the red button" and certain channels having thier logo constantly in the corner) but this can be easily remedy buy changing to another channel and the logo dissapears from the screen.

An amazing TV with great features. (definitely under-priced). It has features that other TVs don't have, especially for this price. USB port is very handy to watch movies downloaded from the internet. Also to listen to music on your TV via mobile phone or usb stick. Also you can view your pictures via your camera and mobile phone. (the pictures look great on the screen). 3HDMI.
The Single layer screen looks great...nothing like it on the market.
Keeping all the picture settings on 50 is good enough for general viewing.
Plasma picture quality is far superior to LCD. Plasma is better for fast motion, darker blacks but this TVs whites are whiter then a LCD. Check the spec's on LG site then compare them to a top range LCD TV.
Good Picture...Good Sound....Great TV. The only down side is 720p but I don't see it as a bad thing as I knew that before I brought it. Also its very hard to tell the difference between 720p n 1080p. I would have to say I can't tell the difference. Haven't tried HD. But I expect it to be great.
Also 720p is better for Standard Definition than 1080p. One last thing Picture quality gets better with age. (after 200 hours of viewing). Keep contrast low during this period.
Also I have not come across Image burn except when I connected it to my PC. But I only saw it because I was looking for it.
- Have not come across one yet.

+ Design, picture quality and price.
- Can't switch the television on or off without using the control.

+ For the price this is fantastic value for money, excellent picture quality and if you have Sky+ HD or a freeview box that upscales to near HD then it's even better! Very easy to use and set up I would highly recommend this to anyone.
- The only bad point I've got is that it really attracts the dust!!! Other than that there are not bad points.
purchased 28 May 2009
+ Excellent picture quality for a 720p panel, superior, crisp sound and sleek, sexy design.
- No headphone socket or VGA input.

+ first time bought a plasma ,impressed by the ease of use of menus and set up,good design looks good
- none i found so far, bit of a dust magnet though
purchased 16 Apr 2009
+ I like the overall design and user interface. The number of inputs is also very impressive.
- The digital TV tuner does not allow you to set your favourites list as current like my old digibox. So even though you can have a favourites list you still have to scroll through all channels if you just use the P+/P- buttons.

+ Great Menu Functions and great Contrast Ratio at 2000000/1. Overall Great little Number
- Shame only 720p , but have put through my Virgin Box which is HD and 1080p, so picture/sound now fine.

+ It looks gorgeous. A feature I have been making use of is the USB interface, allowing me to play movies and tv shows. The menu and freeview guide are very user friendly also.
- Not full HD
purchased 31 May 2009
+ sleek design fits into any surroundings. It truly has a picture quality equal to many others costing double this price
- lack of facility to use Virgin Media remote to control sound
